Think of the great drummers of recent history, and you’ll probably think of Phil Collins, Ringo Star or Meg White. Well, believe it or not, sooner or later new drummers will emerge and show themselves to be the next generation of drumming fiends. And as it turns out, you may not have to look very hard to find them, thanks to a little thing called YouTube. Because of the internet platform we have access to more user-generated content than ever before in human history.
If we’re going to find our next drumming prodigy, it will be there.
And that prodigy, may already have been found: 14 year-old drummer extraordinaire, who goes by the name of Sina.
This young yet talented individual rocks out and shows what she’s got by playing a rock classic.
If you’re going to show off what you’ve got when it comes to rock and roll, what else would you chose but the man, the myth, the legend, Eddie Van Halen. And of course, if you’re going to cover any Van Halen song to flaunt your stuff, it absolutely has to be “Jump”. The power-rock ballad that will take any wedding dance floor from enjoyable to riot.
So can this young drummer keep up with one of the greatest rock songs of all time?
Well, it only takes about a second to realize that the answer is a resounding yes! And if you needed proof, there’s even a “foot-cam” so we can keep track of just how extensive Sina’s talent is.
Anyone who’s ever tried to play the drums will tell you…
The hardest part is keeping those toes tapping in time. Well, apparently that’s not the case for Sina, who expertly hits every beat on time. Her coordination is through the roof.
Sina began drumming when she was only ten.
So by the age of fourteen, with only four years of experience under her belt, you would think she would still be smoothing out the edges of her drumming ability, but that does not seem to be the case.
Don’t just take my word for it!
Many viewers of the video who have actual drumming experience are incredibly vocal about just how talented Sina is.
She drums as if it costs her zero effort.
Smiling cooly, while hitting those drums as if she could do it in her sleep, she is just the picture of style. Every technical move is unflinchingly nailed.
It seems that Sina is filling viewers with more than just awe.
This video was made in 2013, so some time has passed since Sina rocked van Halen’s classic. It may please you to know however, that Sina is still drumming to this day, and has put our many (MANY) more videos out for us to enjoy.
