As Jared Watson has gotten older he lost his muscle movement because of a condition that is known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which is a genetic disease that affects part of the nervous system and controls voluntary muscle.
“It’s very rare. It affects the motor neurons. Basically, my spine was born curved and not straight, so it affects my ability to walk,” Jared told WBOC. “It’s really hard, but you know, you just got to pull through it.”
Though Jared is no longer able to walk, damn can that kid can sing!
Jared absolutely rocked the stage with a stunning performance of Randy Travis’ “I Told You So” during a high school talent show at Delmar High School. In my opinion, he sounds better than Randy Travis in this song. Honestly, the kid is that good.
Jared’s voice is strong and beautiful as his father play guitar alongside him. For some God unknown reason, he only won third place. I’d really like to see who won the first and second place in this talent show because they must be phenomenally talented if they beat Jared.
The audience’s reaction was underwhelming, to say the least, they must have been asleep or just unable to recognize proper talent.
Unlike the first and second place winners, Jared’s performance went viral. That performance has more than 650,000 views on his YouTube channel.
“I thought this was going to be an ordinary performance for me, but it turned out that this performance is changing my life,” Jared told Country Music Nation.
Now Jared is on his way to fulfilling his dream of recording music in Nashville and being an announcer for voice-overs and radio as he’s recently been asked to sing on local TV and has been offered the chance to record a demo.
When Jared isn’t singing, he likes to play video games, watch sports and play baseball.
He’s a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles. People on the internet are losing their minds over how talented Jared is.
