The audition of Gruffydd Wyn Roberts on Britain’s Got Talent was a whirlwind of emotions.

As it turned out, the 20-something-year-old had a knack for opera.
However, just a few lines into his performance, Gruffydd faced every contestant’s worst fear.
Simon raised his hand, bringing the music to a halt.
Simon told Gruffydd that his performance felt “cold” and “mechanical,” which must have been a tough critique to swallow.
But Simon offered him a second chance to sing a different song.
“I want to hear that warmth, that richness. I want you to just let go for a second.”
For his second attempt, Gruffydd chose to sing Giacomo Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma.”
This time, he seemed much more at ease as he let his powerful voice soar.
The audience could sense the improvement in his performance, cheering him on during his redemption.
