The show Got Talent has taken the world by storm- and that’s not surprising. It’s giving tons of aspiring artists and performers a chance to shine and show the public what they can do. It’s so phenomenal that different countries around the world have started releasing their own shows.
Ukraine’s Got Talent is equally as successful as its American version.
Its stage has been stepped on by people with unique talents and a strong passion for their arts. One of them is 11-year-old Sofia Schkidchenko.
Wearing a cute dress and adorable pigtails, the little blonde girl stepped on stage.
Even though she was wearing a costume, the judges and everyone in the audience had no idea about her performance. Others probably thought she’d dance while some probably predicted that she’d perform with some farm animals.
But hey, Sofia shocked everyone.
The girl started singing a country song. There’s no doubt that she has a lovely voice. Her sound was the perfect fit for the piece she chose.
Then, there was a sudden twist.
Sofia started yodeling! And honestly, it was no ordinary yodel. She sounded so good that you wouldn’t even think that the sounds were coming from a child’s mouth.
She didn’t look like she was having a hard time.
In fact, she looked like she was enjoying it. She was delivering every part with such ease and skill that you’d probably find yourself cheering her on with the rest of the crowd.
Listening to her, it’s easy to say that she’s been doing it for quite a long time. That skill takes a lot of time, patience, and breath control. It’s not that easy to manipulate your vocal cords and sounds!
Her performance was so good that her video earned more than 20 million views on YouTube.
And as it went viral, it earned tons of positive comments. One particular YouTube user said:
“Her vocal control is on another level. So talented, love this video 🙌🏻”
There was also this person who said:
“She is phenomenal. That kind of vocal control is very difficult, and she is only 11 here. She has a special gift.”
Another person commented:
“Her vocals are very impressive when you realise she is seamlessly switching between head voice and chest voice very quickly. I don’t anywhere near that amount of control.”
A YouTube user also said:
“She doesn’t just sing amazingly… did you noticed that every movement she made was choreographed? every movement she made was totally planned and perfectly executed… she’s a real artist at such a young age… what a discoverment….”
A couple of years after her performance, Sofia is still doing what she loves to do.
She started her own YouTube channel and there, she continues to upload her performances. She’s covered Destiny’s Child’s Stand Up For Love, Matisyhu’s One Day, Radiohead’s Creep, and even Hozier’s Take Me To Church. Of course, she also has yodeling videos on her channel!
