The violin, sometimes known as a fiddle, is a wooden chordophone. It is a bowed stringed musical instrument that evolved during the Renaissance. Violins are important instruments in a wide variety of musical genres. They are most prominent in the Western classical tradition, both in ensembles, from chamber music to orchestras, and as solo instruments. That is how versatile this little instrument is!

Meet Karolina Protsenko, a talented violin virtuoso, which who, at such a young age, is making a name in the musical scene. And in a video uploaded in her YouTube account, she makes the crowd go wild as she performs a jaw-dropping violin cover of “Dance Monkey” in the busy streets of Santa Monica, California.
“Dance Monkey” is a furiously catchy song that has initially taken over Australian music charts before it broke more chart records across the globe. The singer of the song, whose original name is Toni Watson, is also a busker herself who started in Byron Bay, Australia in 2017. Tones and I wrote “Dance Monkey” while busking in Byron Bay, intending it to be a fun song for her fellow hostel-dwellers to dance to.
A huge crowd starts to gather around Karolina to see her unleash her talent and skills in violin.
But this time, Karolina chooses to perform a modern synth-pop song in contrast to the classical nature and the strong and brilliant tone a violin produces, to entertain her avid listeners.
As if playing the violin is not enough, she also dances to the tune of the song. She glides her body as she keeps pace with its rhythm, and the sweet melodies of the violin and the background music coming from the speakers are floating in the air. She even hops and twists while playing, she is that effortless.
She makes her violin do the singing as she becomes the backup dancer in her live performance.
More and more people stop by and watch her show off her musical prowess. And the crowd is definitely enthralled seeing her perform as they also try to capture the moment with their various gadgets so they can relive the amazing experience again and again.
Her violin cover of the song has also taken the internet by storm as it has been viewed over 41 million times already and still counting.
Everyone is definitely enjoying her performance that some people can’t help but groove to her music, bopping their heads and tapping their feet to such an amazing show.
