One popular content format on social media nowadays is the “man-on-the-street” or MOTS.
It is that form of an interview that a person would ask a question to random people they met on the street. We see those famous content creators asking people how much they pay for rent or asking trivia questions for money.
But this man-on-the-street format has evolved through the years.
Reginald Guillaume has one of the most creative takes on MOTS with his “Sing with Me” series.

Reggie, also known as Guitar 5000, is a musician who sings and plays his guitar in whatever gig he has. But the best gig he ever played in was when he was on the street, and that’s how “Sing with Me” came to be.
The name speaks for itself: he asks random strangers to sing with him.

He sets up his guitar, amp, microphone, and some cameras. He also has this tablet for when he needs to search for the chords and lyrics.
Reggie is indeed very talented because he can pick up the song’s chords right off the bat.
Reggie once had this set up in Herald Square, New York City, and found great talent in Quiora.
She was on her way to school and stopped by when she saw the sign “Sign with me for free.”
She doubted if it was real, so Reggie explained to her what his special series was about. He asked her for a song she knew or loved to sing.
After browsing Quiora’s playlist, they found a song to sing – Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.”
You can feel that Quiora was pretty tense and gave off those nervous giggles in between. A few lines later in the song, she grew more confident in her singing. There were still a few giggles here and there, but she was nailing it.
The crowd slowly gathered before them, cellphones out to capture this incredible moment.
Her high notes were impeccable, even if she was clearly nervous. She belted out the song; you could tell she knew this Adele track by heart. She showed her singing prowess until the end, still feeling sheepish about the experience.
In the end, it was an exhilarating feeling for Quiora to try something that scared her.
Reggie told her that his “Sing with Me” series is all about – breaking barriers, trying something different, and being brave to face something that scares you.
It was also his way of creating a sense of happiness and freedom; he didn’t mind if you had an excellent singing voice or not.
More so, Reggie created this series not to focus on himself or his music but on others.
He wants to focus on people crushing their fears and expressing themselves through songs, even teaching them to play his unique drum sounds on guitars. The goal is to make others smile, and he achieved that in this video with Quiora and more.
