There are certain people in this world who seem like they were born for the stage. A couple of young dancers from Georgia named Daniela Avanzini and Yasha Jeltuhin are among that group.
Over the years, the duo has captivated many with their skills on the dance floor. In fact, they even started dancing together when they were just three-years-old.
Both Daniela and Yasha are trained in various dance styles, including Samba, Hip-Hop, and Ballet. While the pair are currently teenagers, they once wowed a Florida crowd with a spectacular Cha-Cha routine – and neither of them had even reached double-digits yet!
Daniela and Yasha were featured dancers at the Palm Beach Dance Challenge.
The seven-year-olds took the floor dressed in gold and animal print, looking like tiny stars. As the audience probably already suspected – they had a special performance tucked up their sleeves, and it was set to Ke$ha’s song “We R Who We R.”
After the music fills the room, Daniela and Yasha fly into their energetic routine.
If a lot of us were to think back to being seven-years-old, visions of things like grade school and playing hide-and-seek would come to mind. Amazingly, Daniela and Yasha already had four years of dance training under their belts when the video was filmed. It shows too with how magnificent they are.
They begin with some modern-style dance moves that blend perfectly with the track.
Daniela and Yasha seem made for the spotlight as they perform in front of the crowd. Interestingly though, it was only a couple of years later that they were on an even bigger stage together…
You might recognize the young duo from reality television.
In 2013, they were given the chance to audition on America’s Got Talent with a Samba routine. Before they took the stage though – Daniela squashed any wonder if the two would ever date in the future. She told an interviewer:
“I would not want this to be my boyfriend. He’s not my type. Like, he needs to go to the beach and tan.”
The AGT judges were so blown away by Daniela and Yasha’s audition that they moved them to the next round. Unfortunately, the duo didn’t make it too far in the competition – but being on television before your 10th birthday is pretty impressive.
It’s time for the Cha-Cha!
The kids grab hands and show everyone in the audience their talent for the Ballroom style of dance. You can tell that Daniela and Yasha have good chemistry by the way they flawlessly move and glide together.
While some performers choose to do the Cha-Cha with traditional Latin music, others turn to modern hits. The Shawn Trautman Instruction website provides a list that has a variety of songs that pair well with the style. For those who are advanced, they offer the suggestions of Ke$ha’s tracks “Tik Tok” and “Your Love Is My Drug” (plus many more).
These kids are definitely going places.
It’s been a number of years since this particular performance, and both Daniela and Yasha have made achievements since then (together and individually). Daniela competed on So You Think You Can Dance season 13 and placed 10th. As for Yasha, he’s a trained circus artist and even performs with the Cyr wheel.
