You can find street pianos in cities all around the world. They are placed in train stations, parks, markets, and simply in busy areas. Why? All in the hopes that people will stop for a moment and play a tune.

Since the pianos are open to everyone, one might witness a child playing a nursery rhyme, or a couple of friends sitting for a duet. If you’re lucky, you could even run into a stranger who’s so talented – they knock your socks off!

The viral video comes from “Daily Busking,” and it shows a young Korean named Lee Jaehyung ride up on his bicycle.

Although it may seem like it’ll be an impromptu piano performance, it’s actually been set up, and there are cameras there to film it. But even so, it doesn’t take away from the amazing scene that occurs.

Passersby don’t know who Lee is when he sits down at the instrument.

As soon as the youngster starts playing a few notes, he immediately catches a stranger’s attention. However, the guy continues to cross the street and doesn’t stay for the whole performance. Oh boy, was he missing out!

When Lee breaks into Offenbach’s catchy tune, “Galop infernal,” he quickly starts turning heads.

A man immediately stops in his tracks to listen to the kid up close. People in the street can’t help but take a peek at the piano player as they walk by. He’s just that good!

Even if the title doesn’t sound familiar, you’ve likely heard the song many times before.

It comes from the opera Orpheus in the Underworld and is connected to can-can dancing. The website ENO explains:

“…the ‘Galop infernal’ is the most famous example of Can-can music.”

The energetic song can be found in The Little Mermaid, Looney Toons, and the film Moulin Rouge. Once you hear the notes, it’s impossible not to hum along!

Just wait until you hear how incredible his piano rendition of “Galop infernal” is.

Lee’s fingers move so quickly on the keys, you might think it’s because they were made of hot lava. Because of his talent, he’s able to keep up with the fast-paced song, nailing it beautifully, to say the least. Seriously, where did this kid take lessons?

It’s not every day that you get to see such a talented piano player up close, not to mention, get a free concert! Once Lee’s done, those around him give a well-deserved round of applause. He then stands up and thanks them with a bow.
