Winning is not just about doing everything perfectly but winning the hearts of your audience. In a recent StarQuest Competition, a group of little girls flaunted their dance moves with the confidence of a professional dance troupe.
The four little girls wore bathing suits and yellow shades to stay true to their theme song and we know, from that moment, the audience will love them.
The four little girls joined the Mini Small Group division.
With their hands on their hips, they marched with such gusto to the chairs designated to them. Each of them hid behind the lounge chairs and as soon as the music started, they popped out from behind one by one.
With their costumes and theme alone, you’d know exactly what song they were about to dance to. It’s Brian Hyland’s famous novelty song Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini.
The song was written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss and was released in June 1960. The song reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and eventually became a global hit.
Then, from that point, the girls threw coordination out the stage.
But they and the audience didn’t mind. Everybody just wanted to see the dance number the girls prepared.
While some of them were wiggling, some of them were getting into the next step or were doing the step after. At one point, the girl on the farthest right was looking at her friends so she’d know what part of the choreography they were at.
Then, the girls sat down on their little chairs and wiggled in place.
Synchronicity might not be their strongest suit but they sure know how to work the stage. After wiggling and stomping, they stood behind their chairs and waved their arms about.
Then, the girl reassembled at the center of the stage doing some floor moves with one of them left standing. That’s not a problem, of course, as she could always catch up with her friends and what they were doing.
Next, the girl in the farthest left raised her hands and gestured like she was sinking in the water.
The other girls were looking at her for cues and joined her shortly with their own version of the dance move. Then, after some adorable disagreement on what to do, they all went back to get their chairs for the final part of the dance.
The girls then grouped the chairs together then held hands like they were doing “rings around the rosie.”
The girls then topped it off with a sassy ending pose to close the number.
The girls are part of the K and B Dance Company whose mission is to “infuse a love and passion for dance while inspiring self-confidence, discipline, and respect.”

More than dance, they also diversified their programs for competition-level training, recreational dance, cheering, acrobatics, and even yoga.
