Hannah chose to perform along with Lin Manuel Miranda’s “Guns and Ships”, an original from Hamilton, An American Musical which tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers. The musical is known for its unconventional genre filled with hip-hop, R&B, and rap music, genres that are not considered usual for musicals.

The young Irish dance champion was inspired to perform to the said rap song and, through a video that she filmed and edited herself, Hannah proved that rap music can actually accompany Irish dancing.

Her performance is a superb display of accurate footwork executed with grace and pure talent. Watching her as she danced to the fast beat of the rap song is nothing short of captivating. She’s an incredible dancer who has amazing insight for Irish dance and the possibilities around it.

Hannah shared what inspired her to do such a number in the caption she posted in her YouTube channel for the said video:

“If Lin-Manuel Miranda can rap about Alexander Hamilton, I can Irish dance to rap about Alexander Hamilton! Talk about fusion! I’m an aspiring filmmaker, Irish dancer, artist, and leatherworker! I absolutely love performing and dance every chance I get! I perform at festivals year round, including the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Of course, when I heard the Hamilton soundtrack, I couldn’t help but try to move my feet as fast as Daveed Diggs’ lips!”

The “fusion” as Hannah called it, absolutely inspired a lot of her viewers, too. After watching her video, people could not help but comment on the woman’s incredible talent and passion for dancing.

“She’s rapping with her feet. How did she do that?! rapping this fast is already super hard but matching your steps to the rhythm is a 100x harder. this is the best thing ever” — Ghost Box, YouTube
