The site is a restaurant in Nashville.
The air’s filled with the smell of good food, liquor, and great musical talent.
In this fancy restaurant, the guests are treated to some live music courtesy of Døvydas.
Døvydas is a Lithuanian-born singer and songwriter.
He can play multiple instruments, and he’s done enough shows to convince anyone who might doubt him.
The multi-talented performer was doing a show in Nashville and had a surprise collab with another performer there – a singer named Sara Spicer.
We all love unplanned collaborations, and the restaurant customers got more than they paid for when they made their reservations.
Sara warmed up the crowd with a bit of small talk.
She mentioned how many great musical talents you could find Nashville.
In the background, Døvydas was tweaking some settings and adjusting the key on some instruments.
But they didn’t come all the way here just for small talk. Sara was behind the mic for a reason.
The song she wanted to perform for the crowd was Tennessee Whiskey.
She asks Døvydas if he knows how to play it, and he says yes almost enthusiastically.
It’s almost as if he knew she was gonna kill it.
But let’s wait and see.
She wants to do Tennessee Whiskey in the key of C. “Okay, we’re doing it!” says Døvydas excitedly.
Døvydas gets the backing instrumentals going, while Sara gets her voice ready.
Sara began singing, and her voice definitely is as smooth as the titular whiskey.
She emulates the Southern accent for the song, which I definitely think sells it more.
Her breath support and clarity are phenomenal.
The confident singer glides through the notes effortlessly and sounds incredible.
That accent she’s singing with isn’t all for show, and it’s not there to mask some flaws in her voice.
I’m of course referring to what’s known as “cursive singing.”
If you’ve ever heard a singer, often a female singer, sing as if they’re slurring their words or cutting out the vowels, then that’s what that is.
Halsey is often cited as an example of a “cursive singer.”
Thankfully, Sara isn’t one.
Singing with an accent is A-okay, as long as we can still understand the lyrics.
Sara even sings a few riffs, belts some of the notes, and keeps spoiling the crowd with that incredible voice.
But the vocals are only a part of the performance. Døvydas’ guitar work and the recorded bass and percussion he added are completing the picture.
That’s how musicians make their magic!
The two also have their own Instagram pages where you can stay updated as to where they’re performing next.
So if you want more of what you saw here, you know where to look!
After that full-course meal of a performance, Sara and Døvydas get a huge round of applause.
The people came for food and some background music, and got an entire show.
I think this restaurant is going to see a lot of its customers coming back soon.
