The X-Factor judges are always in for a surprise with each new audition, and Chloe Paige was no exception.
This quirky, vivacious blonde shot to fame after her appearance on the 12th season of The X-Factor UK.
And she knocked her audition out of the park.
Dressed in a stylish off-the-shoulder crop top and a figure-hugging mini-skirt, Chloe, a striking blonde market trader from Brighton, England, stepped onto the stage with palpable excitement.
During her pre-audition interview, she gave the audience a glimpse into her background.
“I’m from a pretty musical family. My mom’s got a lot of brothers and sisters, and a lot of my mom’s sisters sing.”
Chloe’s family is her rock.
Her grandfather, in particular, played a pivotal role in her musical journey.
He encouraged her to sing from a young age and even prophesied her X-Factor audition, as her mother recalled, “One day, we’ll go to X-Factor when you grow up.”
Chloe’s audition song was “Crying for No Reason” by Katy B.
Her stunning vocal performance left the judges in awe, earning her a well-deserved spot in the competition.
Judge Rita Ora was so moved by Chloe’s performance that she didn’t want her to stop singing.
Another judge was equally impressed, commenting, “I don’t know how somebody your age feigns something so deep like that; you literally sang from your soul. You are amazing.”
But little did they know, Chloe was just warming up.
During the competition’s ‘Six Chair Challenge’, Chloe announced she would be singing “Amazing Grace” a cappella.
Simon Cowell expressed his skepticism, calling her brave.
However, by the end of her breathtaking rendition, she had proven herself to be a formidable vocal talent.
The judges’ faces were inscrutable during the first verse, but as Chloe began the second verse, the crowd erupted in cheers.
Her voice grew stronger with each line, echoing the depths of her soul.
At one point, Rita Ora was so taken aback by Chloe’s performance that she fell back into her seat, leaving another competitor looking slightly worried.
After her performance, Simon praised Chloe, saying, “What you did there, was you did a performance that not only, I think, makes you deserve a seat, it deserves you possibly a place in the finals.”
Nick Grimshaw, another judge, added, “To be honest, I don’t remember Chloe Paige— but after that performance, I will never forget you again.”
Indeed, Chloe has an unforgettable voice.
Despite her memorable performances, Chloe was later eliminated by Rita Ora in favor of Louisa Johnson, Monica Michael, and Laurent Murray.
However, her awe-inspiring rendition of “Amazing Grace” remains her true claim to fame.
