For some people, busking is a way of life.

For others, it’s an opportunity to make a living to provide for the needs of their family. It’s also an instrument to deliver cultural experiences and entertain members of the public. Street performances are widely supported in some countries like England, and as long as the activity does not interfere with pedestrian traffic or business, performers are welcome.

One day, this busker was performing in Liverpool as a large crowd gathers around him.

His name is Helde Demello, also famously known as Melo.

In a video uploaded on YouTube, Melo is trying to perform Bob Marley’s famous hit “No Woman, No Cry.” However, he was constantly interrupted by a woman. Melo is set to perform in front of a clothing store with mannequins as his backup dancers.

Armed with his guitar, he hits the play button as he counts one, two and three.

Reggae melodies started wafting in the air, making heads bob as the crowd jams to the familiar Jamaican tune.

However, an elderly woman can be seen trying it disrupt his performance.

But the crowd had Melo’s back because they chanted “go, go, go” at the woman, asking her to go away and let them enjoy the busker’s show in peace.

But the woman won’t leave Melo alone and kept talking to him, probably asking him to leave seeing him as a nuisance.

The busker tried to reason with her while the crowd chuckled in the background.

The woman was so persistent in bugging Melo that the guy found it hard to resume his performance.

As the busker kept repeating himself, the woman gets angrier and doesn’t let Melo play his music.

For the millionth time, Melo tries to resume his performance as the woman tries to step on his wirings. After that, he tries to direct the woman away while remaining calm.

He attempted again to resume playing his guitar as he sang the intro of the famous song.

Amazed by his sense of professionalism and his respect for the woman, the crowd hurrayed and clapped for Melo.

Then people then started putting in donation after donation, as everyone told the woman to leave the man in peace and go about her day.

As the saying goes, the show must go on—and Melo did!

After several attempts and intrusions, Melo finally performed not letting the woman get in the way.

Another woman tried to tell the intruder to go away while pointing at the expecting crowd—and meanwhile, there’s a kid in the background who can be seen jiving to the song! As the video nears its end, the camera shifts to the crowd and shows how many people have gathered to witness Melo perform.

In all fairness, that woman can also be perceived as a blessing in disguise since Melo received more support because of the ruckus she made!

Even though he had a hard time that day, publicity is still publicity—and the crowd all rose up to support him, which was great to see. Without a doubt, it’s difficult to be a busker as you never know what you might run into. This situation is about as bad as things can get, and Melo showed he was more than up for the challenge!
