There are moments in a woman’s life when she wants a fresh start.
This is the story of Minaya, who decided to leave her past behind and step into a new phase of life, armed with a newfound confidence.
For over three decades, Minaya had been dyeing her hair dark brown, concealing her natural white hair.
But she decided it was time for a change.
She wanted to embrace her original hair color once again, and she chose to do so at Christopher Hopkin’s Makeover Guy’s Appearance Studios, with her supportive husband by her side.
Christopher, the makeover maestro, was thrilled with Minaya’s decision.
He said, “This is love. Minaya had grown out her white hair that she has colored to dark brown for over 30 years. I loved her natural color so this is what happened.”
When asked about her expectations from the makeover, Minaya expressed her desire to “feel fun and more… different.”
She confessed that she had been feeling “kinda blah” in recent years.
So, how did Minaya respond to her transformation?
When asked about her new look, she was ecstatic.
“I love it! It’s a nice change,” she exclaimed, adding, “I finally got rid of that witch hair.”
The reaction of her husband was priceless.
Upon seeing his wife’s new look, he was visibly moved, tears welled up in his eyes, and he couldn’t stop smiling.
He was lost for words but managed to say, “You look so beautiful.”
He then shared with the team that he had envisioned this look for her.
“I think she’s gonna be much more comfortable and it makes her look -” he began, before Minaya interjected, “Sexy? Come on, say it.”
He agreed, saying, “You look sexy and sophisticated.”
Minaya was sure her husband would love her new look.
The couple then started reminiscing about their high school days when Minaya’s hair was of the same length.
The husband playfully suggested, “So now we just need a Ramones t-shirt and a short black mini-skirt,” to which Minaya readily agreed.
The viewers also loved her new look, with the video garnering more than 100k views on YouTube!
Christopher Hopkins, aka the MakeoverGuy, is a genius when it comes to giving women over 45 a second lease on life.
He has transformed hundreds of women (and some men) from around their area in Minneapolis, all over Minnesota, all over the United States, and even from different countries.
Christopher’s journey in hairstyling began in 1990 when he opened a salon inside the KSTP Television Studios in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Since then, he has opened two more salons in Minneapolis before he opened the MakeoverGuy Appearance Studios in 2017.
He is also an author and a beauty guest expert on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
