No one likes getting stuck at the airport overnight.

It’s hard to sleep, boring, and all you want to do is either get home or get to where you are headed.

However, sometimes this happens and all you can do is try and make the best out of the situation.

That’s exactly what one traveler did when her flight got delayed at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Mahshid Mazooji was on her way to Colorado from New Jersey in order to attend a wedding.

On the way, she had to layover in Charlotte.

Unfortunately for Mahshid, she missed her connecting flight and had no choice but to wait until the following morning to catch a flight to Colorado.

At this point, Mahshid had two options.

She could either complain and spend her time being frustrated and upset about the fact that she would have to spend the night in the terminal, or she could make the most out of her unfortunate situation.

Being the positive and funny person that she is, Mahshid decided on the latter.

She shared on YouTube:

“…I didn’t want to sit in anger all night long, so instead I did what makes me happiest…DANCE!!!! Oh, and I made some really great friends along the way! Thank you for dancing your troubles away with me!!! :)”

With nothing but time to kill, Mahshid decided to make a music video to Lyonel Richie’s song, “All Night Long.”

This song was the perfect choice for two reasons.

One, the lyrics are just so appropriate for when you get stuck at the airport… all night long.

And two, this is a song that Mahshid has enjoyed since she was a little girl.

According to reporters from CharlotteFive, Mahshid says:

“I used to sing this song as a child and it always uplifted my spirits and got me moving. Every time.”

Rather than dance along to the song by herself, Mahshid made sure to include everyone else who was stuck at the airport overnight as well.

She dances with the airline workers.

She dances with a Starbucks worker.

And she even gets other travelers to dance along with her.

There’s no doubt that Mahshid brightened the night for everyone she came into contact with at the airport.

At one point, Mahshid even comes across a cleaning cart and decides to steal a couple of squirts from a bottle to “freshen up.”

Mahshid really is a funny and positive person.

She uploaded the video onto YouTube and received plenty of positive feedback from viewers.

One commenter said:

“You are THE BEST. Can’t tell you how much this cheered me when I needed it – AND you are a great dancer!”

Another person posted:

“It’s beautiful to see someone spreading so much joy like this! And it’s amazing that you choose such a great attitude, keep doing you gurl.”

Lionel Richie, himself, even saw the video.

He enjoyed it so much that he reached out to Mahshid, gave her tickets to his upcoming show in Vegas, and met with her backstage after the performance.
