Natalie Trayling, who prefers to be known as just Natalie, is a famous street performer in Melbourne Australia who is known for wowing local crowds.
She is also an internet star as videos of Natalie’s performances have gone viral and garnered millions of views on YouTube.
Natalie is an 80-something-year-old classically trained pianist who does not have a piano of her own so she plays wherever she finds ones available to her. So, it’s not uncommon to find her at a department store, library, or hotel lobby.
No matter what happens in life, Natalie always turns to music to get her through tough times, according to Daily Mail. And she’s had her share.
She’s been homeless, has had health problems and has lived through the deaths of two of her daughters.
“Music is everything. I do feel part of it. The whole world is music,” she said.
Many of the pieces she plays in public are her own compositions. Her son, Matthew Trayling posted many videos of her performances on his YouTube channel where they have gone viral.

One of her most recent performances took place around the holidays at a David Jones department store.
“Natalie walks into ‘David Jones’ Melbourne after being told there is a piano inside for the festive season. A pianist is playing and he recognizes Natalie from many years ago when she used to just walk in from the street and start playing attracting huge crowds and media interest,” the video’s caption explains. “He offers to stand aside for a bit and hear her play. The two pieces Natalie plays here are both ‘spontaneous’, as in she is composing as she plays.”
The video of her performance got 69,912 views on YouTube and is simply astounding.
She has a true gift for composing and creating heavenly music.
“New performance recorded yesterday at David Jones Department Store. I just got into to play this piano before it was taken away as it was only there for the festive season. I am just composing on the spot as I play. I hope you enjoy,” she wrote on Facebook.
