The singer and songwriter Willie Nelson has been in the music industry since 1956.

And through the years, he has been delivering great folk-rock songs and country music.

He was one of the notable figures of the Outlaw Country genre during its peak.

Willie’s still got words to share.

Nelson released yet another emotional song called from the album “God’s Problem Child”.

It’s called “It Gets Easier “.

The song has a sense of freedom and calmness as a person grows old, conquering challenges and hardships.

It does get easier to come up with such a great song, considering Nelson’s decades-long experience in writing music.

Nelson’s voice has always been relaxing.

“God’s Problem Child” came into being due to a very sad experience. Back in 2016, Nelson lost two of his friends, Merle Haggard and Leon Russell.

So it is not surprising that the album has its fair share of death songs. This album is the first of his Mortality Trilogy.

The lyrics are hard but honest.

“It Gets Easier” was co-written by his long-time friend Buddy Cannon.

“We have a system that works,” Nelson told Rolling Stone Country. “I write a verse and he’ll write a verse and next thing you know we’ve got a song completed,” he further explained.

“Then we’ll get a melody, and he’ll go in the studio with a band to record it and put his vocal on there. Then when I get a chance, I go [into] the studio and I’ll record my vocal. Over the years, we put out four or five albums. It’s been really easy to do it that way,” Nelson added.

The video, with its black and white themed approach, starts with a scenery of blades of grass that gently sways as the wind blows.

The sun is on the horizon.

The outdoor scenes go back and forth with Nelson playing his guitar and singing the song. The studio’s shots with Nelson are also set in black and white.

No need for other enhancements.

The lyrics were delivered using his signature elastic phrasing. Just Nelson, the microphone, and his guitar make everything perfect.

Here are the first few lines:

“It gets easier, as we get older
It gets easier to say, ‘not today’
And it gets easier, as we get older
To say, ‘go away, not today'”

The lyrics resonate with people.

Particularly people who have been through a lot lately, especially the old ones who have decades worth of life experience.

The song relates to people who just want to slow down in their lives, missing those people who they shared memories with.
