In the final competition of Britain’s Got Talent, one Welsh man gave the performance of a lifetime.

Singing Ed Sheeran’s and Andrea Bocelli’s song “Perfect Symphony,” a man named Gruffydd Wyn gave a breathtaking live performance. The best part? He quite literally had a perfect symphony playing alongside him, giving us two minutes of musical bliss.

Fans may recognize Ed Sheeran’s number one hit, “Perfect,” but they may not be as familiar with the Italian reboot, especially if they don’t speak the language.

The song received a makeover from the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, soon after its initial release. The song was recorded at Bocelli’s home in Tuscany and arranged by Sheeran’s brother, Matthew.

Somehow, a Welsh man’s rendition made this Sheeran-Bocelli fusion just a bit more perfect.

The Got Talent franchise holds a special place in our hearts as it skips streaming the horrible auditions while only leaving time for real talent.

We get quality content without having to search for it or leave the home. What more could we possibly want?

Gruffydd is a theatre assistant from Amlwch, Wales.

His passion for singing and performing stemmed at an early age. Gruffydd was a member of several community choirs and even earned a college degree in acting.

Receiving the golden buzzer from judge Amanda Holden, Gruffydd earned a straight pass into the live performances of the semi-final. He then went on to earn a spot in the season’s final competition.

After getting cut off from Simon Cowell during his audition, Gruffydd went on to place 4th in the 2018 season of Britain’s Got Talent.

During his final song, Gruffydd’s eyes are as emotional as the performance he’s giving. He clearly poured his heart and soul into his final song of the competition.

Gruffydd’s performance was so moving that he even received a standing ovation from the judges while bringing several audience members to tears.

We can’t help but wonder if the judges speak Italian, or are they just as in the dark as we are? It’s amazing the power that music can have over us, even when we don’t understand a single word.

As an active member of his community, the entire town of Amlwch gathered to watch Gruffydd perform in the final round of the competition.

They were so excited to have one of their own representing them on the big stage. Some community members even made signs to show their support.

It’s been three years since Gruffydd’s season on the show, so where is he now?

After his rise to fame on Britain’s Got Talent, Gruffydd became so popular that he went on tour in 2019, just one year after his debut on the Got Talent franchise.

In 2020, Gruffydd released his first album Chapter One which can be purchased on his website or streamed on sites such as Spotify or Apple Music.

If his quick rise to fame is any indication, hopefully, Gruffydd will release another album in the coming years. Maybe it will even gain the name Chapter Two!

Although Gruffydd didn’t win the final trophy on his season of Britain’s Got Talent, I think it’s safe to say that his performance was still perfect.
