In a day and age when engaged couples are free to drift from tradition and make their wedding truly their own, you can see some wonderful and inventive new themes emerging.
With a fresh approach to the ancient ceremony, new spins can be put onto a tradition that breathes new life into it and expresses the interests of the lucky couple.
Every once in a while though, you can see an instance of a couple who really release not just their interest into their big day, but their talents too.
Monika and Dawid Tomaszewski are one such couple, and with their dressed-down style and couple of first dances that raise the roof. Gone are the days when married couples had to strap themselves into traditional tuxes and wedding dresses, and now the bride and groom can treat it as the biggest party of heir lives.
The routine kicks off with Monika leaping onto Dawid, and the song blasts in.
And what better song to perform a Rock n’ Roll dance-tacular to than a song by the king of Rock himself, Mr. Elvis Presley. His infamous song “Hound Dog” is the perfect upbeat, high energy 1950’s track for these two to hit the dance floor and wow their guests.
And who even needs the traditional wedding garb when you’ve got gorgeous outfits that suit such a fun theme for your wedding?
Monika looks stunning in her 1950’s polkadot skirt, even down to the detail of the matching headband. She looks like she could be stepping off the set of a 1956 Coca Cola commercial. Dawid of course is also looking spiffing with his red suspenders, and era-appropriate Chuck Taylor sneakers and rolled up jean cuffs.
It’s not just their outfits that bring the 1950’s into the present!
Their incredible dance moves are straight out of a milkshake bar. You can imagine this couple having just fired up the jukebox and taking to the dance floor to do the twist. Actually, forget the twist, these guys are way beyond that skill level. Not simply satisfied to do the easy moves, they perform leaps, dips, spins, you name it!
And on top of their ability to nail the moves themselves, their natural charisma makes this performance great.
Not only do this couple have moves, but they’ve got style too. I shudder to think of the hours they would have had to spend practicing on top of the time it takes to plan an entire wedding. The good thing is however, that it seems like they are living their best lives and thoroughly enjoying performing for their nearest and dearest.
It hardly looks like a chore for these two fancy footed former fiancees!
And I guess it’s not just Monika who gets to do the jumping!
In a high-flying final move, Dawid leaps right over her shoulders! A risky move when you consider how bad the timing would be if something went wrong just then. Obviously, that was never a concern for these two pros.
And at the conclusion of the dance, they jump into each other’s arms, and their guests cheer like thunder.
What a heartwarming first dance this is, and what an amazing couple who seem to have found their soulmates.
