Lindsey Sterling has taken the world by storm with her incredible violin performances. If you can believe it, she dances and plays at the same time!
She held the title of Highest Earning Female YouTuber for some time, and gained more than a 1.5 million followers on Instagram. She has just released a new album, Artemis.

She has been sharing videos on YouTube since 2007, but really shot to fame after appearing on America’s Got Talent.
She was a quarter finalist on season five in 2010, but singer-songwriter Michael Grimm ultimately took the title.
Lindsey used that exposure to continue making music for an even bigger audience, and has since worked with established musicians like John Legend.
Her latest song, Sleepwalking, is accompanied by a powerful music video.
It begins with Lindsey standing in a beautiful white dress and head covering against a stark black background. She’s softly playing her violin.
Some thought provoking words flash across the screen.
“Have you ever considered that the dreams you dream, and the passing thoughts you think, are not all your own?”
“Maybe they are a communication. Perhaps these transient thoughts are actually guidance from someone who has left this world… or from someone we knew in another life.”
White figures holding umbrellas fade in and out of the space around her as she plays. There’s a shallow puddle of water on the floor below her which makes for even more drama.
She continues playing the violin and looking around as if she’s lost in a dream.
“If this is the case, then the most lucid steps you take are the ones taken while you’re sleepwalking.”
And then suddenly, the scene turns white.
She and her mysterious umbrella people are teetering in both worlds, light and dark. The video cuts back and forth to each world, while Lindsey dances around in each scene. Is one a dream, are they both?
Rain starts to pour down in the world with the black setting.
The dancing figures around her are all sheltered by umbrellas, but Lindsey is left standing on her own without shelter. She’s holding nothing but her instrument, looking up at the sky and looking lost. But she doesn’t stop playing.
Back in the light world, it starts snowing.
And again, she’s left without shelter wandering around while those around her are safe under their umbrellas.
Eventually, we get to see the mystery behind these hidden figures. What we see under the umbrella shade is probably nothing you could have expected.
Two giant glowing bug-like eyes.
The tempo of the song quickly picks up and the dancing becomes more drastic as the weather continues to bucket down.
Lindsey is managing some extreme extended high kick with her violin in hand.
She must bring that instrument with her everywhere to be able to move and play with such precision!
When the music calms again, the people with their glowing eyes and umbrellas start to disappear again.
Almost as if she were in a dream.
Lindsey Sterling isn’t just the talent in this music video, she was also involved in directing, editing, and producing!
She received some harsh criticism from the judges on America’s Got Talent when she was just in her early twenties.
Piers Morgan told her that her music sounded like “a bunch of rats being strangled”, which would obviously be devastating for anyone to hear.
After her elimination on the show, she used that harsh criticism as something to make her fight harder and achieve her dream. She’s truly one of a kind, and knew her performance style made her unique.

Years later, after she found success on her own, America’s Got Talent invited her back to compete on their “The Champions” series. Naturally, she declined. She’s doing just fine on her own!
