When everyone saw the bird fly in, they knew something was up. Call it fate, call it destiny, but it was a moment that captured everyone’s attention, albeit briefly.

But if that bird was a sign of what was to come, then let’s hope for more surprise appearances on this show.

Nine year old Victory Brinker stepped on to that stage feeling “Ex-nervous”. But her pre-audition chat with the judges was super adorable that even Simon couldn’t help but smile to himself.

In fact, Mr. Cowell was so stunned by this little girl, he broke a rule for Victory.

Each judge gets to hit the golden buzzer just once but little Brinker’s outstanding performance got everyone off their feet that it warranted a rule change. Even Terry Crews was in on it!

The Pennsylvania singer told Simon that she would by him a rainbow shirt with glitters if she won. Simon does admit he only wears the same colors so he went on to humor Victory.

Now just like everyone, I was expecting Victory to sing something from modern artists. It’s what most kids would do.

Instead, Brinker broke into a soaring opera number, stunning the judges with her controlled voice and impressive range. The moment she let loose, there was a collective “woah” by the audience before cheers erupted.

Howie, Heidi, Sofia, and Simon dropped their jaws together.

It was “Juliet’s Waltz,” from Romeo et Juliette, complete with perfectly hit high notes.

Victory is one to watch out for in the years to come!

She may have been excited and nervous but when the music played and she started singing, little Brinker took on a power unseen in such a small body. It’s the other performers who got nervous!

The judges were all praises for little Victory.

“I was not expecting that,” said Howie Mandel. “You’re angelic. I loved it.”

Sofia Vergara added, “You are a star. You have a powerful voice.”

But it was Simon who put the icing on Victory’s cake. He calls for Terry to come join them at the table and you could hear a little bit of what they were saying. Cowell had a brilliant idea.

“Victory, as I said, turning up, in terms of your career, is really important; however, we’re not going to give you a yes today,”

Cowell said, to which the audience booed collectively.

“We’re going to do something else we’ve never, ever, ever done on the show before,” he continued. “We are all going to give you something special.”

Poor Victory looked so confused.

Then Simon began to count down from five. The other judges rose as Terry made his way up to their table. And together, they all hit the golden buzzer as the audience exploded in cheers.

A standing ovation and lots of tears were shed as Victory’s mom came out to hug her daughter amidst the golden confetti raining down on them. The audition was fantastic from beginning to end.

Simon had better make room in his closet for a rainbow shirt.
