It was almost like they were 20 years old all over again. 🥰

Well, that’s one heck of a way to wait in an airport.

For avid travelers, waiting in line or killing time in an airport can be such a hassle. It’s hours of just sitting in uncomfortable hard chairs and sometimes, the Wi-Fi doesn’t even work.

We can all learn from these vets.

A pack of World War II veterans shared a lesson that life is too short to get annoyed. And rather than sitting and brooding, you can always get up on your feet to dance.

These vets know age is but a number.

He was waiting with fellow veterans at the Ronal Reagan Washington National Airport when three singers from the Ladies of Liberty sang a popular wartime song.

When the veteran heard the first notes of The Anderson Sisters’ greatest hit “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” he awkwardly tried to get on his feet.

Then, he got down.

You’d be worried for someone his age especially when they try to walk without their assistive devices.

The veteran’s wobbles were just for show.

The crowd’s feelings turned from nervous anticipation to a roaring reception. As the brass and the singing kicked in, the veteran jumped on his feet.

He literally got off the ground like he was back in his prime. The veteran started tap dancing while another veteran joined the girls and danced along with the music.

The man threw his hands up in the air and swayed his hips.

His moves were reminiscent of how the characters from the movie Buck Privates danced to the same song.

He was nostalgia in motion.

There were no inhibitions, no worries, and no shyness. Just to veterans enjoying the time of their lives as they waited in the airport.

As the song continued, they all realized that these two men can’t be left alone.

One of the volunteers from the Honor Flight joined the men in a partner-dance of swing. And while the age gap is wide, the veteran refused to slow down.

He spun his partner and matched her energy with every move.

Honor Flight is a non-profit organization.

The organization’s mission is to fly veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War to Washington DC.

This gives them a chance to go to memorials and reunions to honor their brothers in arms and remember their fallen friends.

According to its website, the organization has flown nearly 275,000 veterans since its inception.

They also prioritize veterans who are critically ill.

People all over the internet were impressed and moved by the heartwarming interaction.

“Oh, my goodness! I loved dancing with these gents! It isn’t every day that a WWII vet can out-dance you!” shared one commenter, “After an early morning and a long day traipsing all over DC, these veterans still have amazing energy!”

“If he was that good now just imagine how he was back in the day! I love seeing the years lift off of our old vets, for just a minute you get to see who they really are.” Said another.

You can check out Honor Flight’s website to see how you can help them fly more veterans to places of remembrance.
