If there is one song that can absolutely be considered as a legendary classic, it’s without a doubt Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Thousands of covers of the song have been performed, but this one is perhaps one of the funniest we’ve ever seen.

An a capella group known as the UC Men’s Octet consisting of eight University of Berkeley students arrive on the stage, and it doesn’t take long before their performance captivates the entire audience.

Bohemian Rhapsody is absolutely packed with very different musical sections, and doing it all without instruments can definitely be considered a challenge. However, the UC Men’s Octet blew everyone away in mere seconds and it will most definitely put a smile on your face.

The act definitely starts out in a bit of mysterious manner, and the people watching had no idea what to expect.

When the eight talented men put their hands across their chests, the audience knew it was in for something special.

The second the group starts singing the famous line “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?” the crowd absolutely erupts in laughter as the performers are met with deafening cheers.

Now, these guys can’t only sing, because their entire performance truly is sublime.

The UC Men’s Octet incorporates a bunch of funny bits into their choreography and they really let their personality shine. They also make sure that everyone gets the chance to give a little solo performance.

If you’re a fan of the song, you know that there’s a great guitar riff right around the middle. The audience was probably curious how well this a capella group would translate that without instruments, but the result is definitely remarkable! In fact, their funny performance led to a bunch of laughter.

It’s immensely obvious that all of these eight men are really talented, and that they work so well in a group with each other. Near the end of the performance, one of the members hits a particularly high note perfectly! The talent on display here is just amazing.

And it certainly doesn’t stop there, because everyone just keeps falling in love with their hilarious choreography.

At the end of the song, the eight men finish exactly how they started, with their hands folded across their chest.

The performance was stunning, but the applause even managed to surpass that.

The footage was captured a couple of years ago and has since gone viral with millions of views on YouTube. And lucky for us, Bohemian Rhapsody isn’t the only song this great octet has performed.

It turns out that the UC Men’s Octet has been quite a long tradition at the Californian University, with videos dating back to 2003!

Other excellent performances include an a capella rendition of “Stayin’ Alive,” accompanied by some sweet and funky dance moves.

They also performed a Nirvana Medley with a bunch of the band’s songs as a tribute to the late Kurt Cobain.

But perhaps one of their performances to date was their most recent one, where they sang the “Lion King Medley” at an a capella festival in 2016. It’s amazing how well a capella works for this already hilarious song, and it’s just a perfect fit for the UC Men’s Octet.
