Watching a musician play boogie-woogie on the piano is entertaining indeed. But when it’s a pair of identical twins tickling the ivories, it’s double the fun!
Angelina and Ashley Leyva are sisters from New Jersey who are both musically gifted. When they were 11-years-old, they joined up for a spectacular boogie-woogie duet that’s spread across the internet. If you haven’t seen these girls in action, prepare to be impressed.
Twins oftentimes share a lot of things in common besides their looks. For the Leyva sisters, they can both play the piano like nobody’s business.
In the video, one twin begins the performance by herself while the other sister looks on. However, these girls have a trick up their sleeves… While it seems like it’s a solo act, there’s actually a large keyboard sitting just a couple feet away. The standing girl takes over the piano while the other takes a seat at the keyboard.
Who’s ready to boogie-woogie?
Together, Angelina and Ashley play the keys at lightning-speed, producing a funky duet that sounds like it could come from an old-fashioned blues lounge. The style of music can be traced back to the 1870s, however, its popularity didn’t begin until the 1920s.
During the performance, the twins cutely look up at the camera at times while their hands continue to fly across the keys. They must have taken plenty of lessons when they were little!
Playing the piano is one thing, but some musicians (like the Leyva sisters) like to add a little flair every once in a while too.
Approximately one minute in, Angelina and Ashley twist their bodies so that each girl can reach both of the keyboards. They amazingly continue to play with one hand on either instrument. Now that’s something that takes a lot of skill, don’t you think?

“So impressive! The 2 hands, one on each piano, just blew me away. You have some real talent!”
Eventually, the twins go back to playing only one instrument each. Yet to add another twist, they actually swap pianos!
Angelina and Ashley’s YouTube channel is full of musical performances from over the past years that capture their talent. They both can sing and play the guitar as well – and have a family band (which their brother Jack is the drummer of). The twins even have more than 10.8K subscribers to their channel.
It’s a boogie-woogie duet that took place in their living room, yet, it’s been watched more than 1.7 million times online! Not shabby bad, right?
In the end, the twin at the keyboard joins her sister on the piano bench, and they finish the performance together. Bravo girls! Surely they would have received a big round of applause if it had been a live concert.
Many people have shared positive feedback online. One person commented:
