Identical twins usually have a lot more in common than just similar looks.

For one set of New Jersey sisters, they’re both incredible musicians who know how to boogie-woogie!

Angelina and Ashley Leyva have been sharing videos on their YouTube channel since 2013, and have covered numerous songs from popular artists.

But there’s a specific video that has caught the internet’s attention – featuring an impressive performance from the girls in a music store.

Not all performers need big stages to show off their talents. Just wait until you see what happens when these twins get their hands on some pianos.

Ang and Ash rush through the doors of the business and are met with a showroom of the massive instruments. They stop at a bright red one where one of the girls sits down. She begins to play, only in response, her sister looks bored by what she’s hearing.

Fortunately, there are plenty of pianos in the store for everyone.

The bored twin shoos her sister off of the instrument and starts tickling the ivories with soul. As for the other twin? She hops onto a different piano just a couple of feet away, and it quickly becomes an awesome boogie-woogie duet!

Boogie-woogie is an upbeat music genre that stems from the blues. While it originated in the 1870s within African American communities (and was played exclusively on the piano), its popularity became widespread in the 20s. According to the Trinity College London website:

“…it has seen growth in instrumentation through piano duos and trios, guitar, big band arrangements and many other wide-ranging ensembles.”

Just wait until you see how talented Ang and Ash are when it comes to the music style. But they also have a fun trick they throw in too.

One twin tells her sister, “I can play with my eyes closed.” She shuts her eyes and proves that she doesn’t need to see the piano to still rock it! Her twin shows that she can do the same (because who wouldn’t accept a challenge?).

A viewer of their performance wrote on YouTube:

“WOW….fantastic….but there are no words…y’all are super…keep it up.”

Nearly halfway through the video, the girls hop onto the red piano to play boogie-woogie together.

It’s hard not to groove along listening to the lively sounds of boogie-woogie (plus it’s also fun to watch as well). When it comes to the Leyva twins, it’s getting double the talent!

In addition to the piano, Ang and Ash also sing and play the guitar. They even have a family band with their brother who’s also musically gifted.

There are numerous musical artists who’re known for their incredible boogie-woogie playing.

Martin Pyrker is Austria’s most renowned artist of the style and Doña Oxford can set a keyboard on fire with her skills. Brendan Kavanagh (Dr K) has reached internet stardom surprising strangers with his boogie-woogie performances.

Dr K actually left the twins a really nice compliment on their piano store video! He wrote:

“Fantastic Performance!”

The girls were honored and responded to the famous pianist with their own kind message back. How awesome would that be to get a compliment from an idol?
