Gymnast Trinity Thomas got her seventh perfect 10.0 on floor of the year.
She finishes her gymnastics season in flawless fashion during the NCAA championships.
It was on a Saturday when Thomas turned up the heat, performing her floor routine as she represented Florida in the NCAA finals.
Her stunning routine resulted in a perfect 10.0 for the semifinals on Friday.
Trinity followed it up with another perfect score in the finals.
She is unbelievable.
The announcers knew that Thomas would receive a perfect 10.
Trinity landed all her flips cleanly, and she was on a rhythm not missing a single beat at any point in her performance.
This lady was in the zone!
Thomas has had quite a successful week as the numbers show.
She became the NCAA’s all-around individual champion, along with becoming the floor and uneven bars champion after posting scores of 39.8125, 10.0 and 9.9750, respectively, during the team semifinals.
That’s an all around 39.8125 score which ties the highest in NCAA semifinals history. Florida’s representative stunned the audience and the judges in Fort Worth, Texas.
Thomas finished just ahead of Auburn’s Sunisa Lee. Here are the top 5 gymnasts:
- Trinity Thomas — Florida — 39.8125
- Sunisa Lee — Auburn — 39.6750
- Megan Skaggs — Florida — 39.6625
- Leanne Wong — Florida — 39.6250
- Norah Flatley — UCLA — 39.6000
Thomas did suffer an injury in 2021, and it’s like she took that as a challenge and an opportunity to come back better than ever this season.
The spectacular senior has received three perfect 10s for vault, four for the uneven bars, three for balance beams and now eight perfect 10s for floor performance.
What a career so far.
And all four are a Florida record all her own.
In the semifinals, her score was good enough to secure the all-around title.
She was then crowned champion on floor and on the uneven bars. And it was like everyone knew it.
Trinity was inevitable.
Right before her bar routine, a technical cable difficulty with the uneven bars delayed her performance.
But that didn’t unsettle or throw her off. Thomas waited and still executed an amazing routine.
A delay like that would have thrown of many other athletes, but not Thomas.
She went ahead and stuck her landing which sent her teammates into a full blown “perfect 10” chant.
Trinity scored just a little short of perfect with a 9.9750.
But to her fans and viewers, it was beyond perfect.
Thomas is the golden girl!
The former West York High athlete is set to graduate this spring.
Thomas will then decide if she will continue her gymnastics career. And for the sake of this performance, let’s hope she does.
Trinity moves like she’s not 5’3″, flipping, jumping, and landing like she dwarfs the world.
Her strength, balance, and control proved to be the perfect formula for her to secure the top spot and gain a whole lot of attention.
For the sake of young aspiring gymnasts everywhere and the world of gymnastics, please make her continue her stunning career.
