When he first auditioned for American Idol, Trevor Holmes instantly became a fan favorite and a judge favorite.
Luke Bryan called him a dreamboat and Katy Perry told him that her eyes lit up as soon as she saw him.
Then, he impressed them because he turned out to not just be a pretty face, but a good guy. Trevor’s daytime job is as a construction worker.
He isn’t crazy about construction but does it to pay for his mother’s medical bills, as she suffers from lupus.
So, not only is he a great son, he’s also handsome and he has a great voice! What isn’t there to love about Trevor?
This week was the solo performance round on American Idol and Trevor came back out to impress the judges once again.
Katy Perry tried to play it cool, but by the end of the audition she was in tears and did not want Trevor to leave!
When he walked onto the stage, Katy shouted “love you babe” right before Trevor launched into “Home” by Phillip Phillips.
After Trevor finished singing, he hopped off the stage and ran to hug his girlfriend who was sitting in the audience. But Katy didn’t get any love!
She took this to heart (in a joking matter of course) and started to cry on camera!
Luckily, she had Lionel Richie and Luke to comfort her, as she cried about how Trevor’s version of the song “Home” impacted her.
But all of her crying wound up making Lionel say that he wanted to go home! He felt that he did not sign up for all of this.
After his performance, Trevor felt pretty confident. He was interviewed shortly after he got off stage.
“I got a good feeling from the judges. When I was singing, they were like smiling and Lionel, he goes ‘look at me and focus right here.’ That calmed me and helped me with my performance, so I do think I am going to make it through.”
After the solo performance portion of the Hollywood Week finishes on American Idol, the contestants that make it through will continue onto the audience voting portion of the show.
If Trevor makes it to audience voting, I don’t think he’ll have any trouble pulling in votes from all across America!
