Not everyone likes to exercise. Sometimes getting that cardio in is like pulling teeth. That’s why some of us try to find ways to make exercise fun so that we’re motivated to engage in it more.
When we make exercise fun, we see it more as something we’d like to do rather than something we have to do, like a chore to be checked off our to-do list.
According to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, less than 5 percent of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day and only one in three adults get the recommended amount of physical activity each week.
If you’re one of those adults who want to make a change in your health this year, this is the perfect time to do it with people making New Year’s resolutions. If you find ways to make working out fun, then it’s more likely that you’ll start a routine that lasts.
There are tons of articles that have great ideas on how you can spruce up your exercise routine to make it more fun.
You can try exercising with a friend, you can try joining a class, you can come up with ways to reward yourself for exercising, you can use some exercise apps, or try playing games or watching your favorite TV shows during exercise.
There are lots of ways to make exercise more entertaining. But the very best way is to make a dance party out of it. Blast your favorite tunes and go have a ball.

YouTube personality Carson Dean knows that dance is a great way to motivate people, especially when it comes to exercise. That’s why he came up with this incredible treadmill dance routine to Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”
