Prom night. An evening of glamour and magic for teenagers.

The girls are more than excited for this.

Sometimes it’s about who’s wearing what dress, what kind of make up to put on, and then looking for a boy to take them.

Guys do the same more or less. And of course, the chance to dance with that elusive crush.

This is where it’s make or break.

Discover the joys of romance or be scarred for life. Not everyone is so lucky.

The night is awash with raging hormones and blushing adolescents.

These guys and girls in their lovely outfits are on their best behavior but behind those formalities are groups of friends who spent the entire day chatting with each other regarding the night’s many possibilities.

It’s funny because the whole purpose of prom night is to give young people a chance to learn social skills.

How to dress, walk, and talk, and act appropriately give way to hidden shenanigans.

An evening waltz is always part of the festivities.

Now there are other schools who let go and allow the kids to perform any dance they want, but sometimes, we all need a little tradition.

Timeless tradition.

This German school took it to the next level, bringing a dance suitable for the opera.

If the translation from Hungarian is accurate, the video description goes,

Next up is the 12th grade Vienna circus, choreographed by Red One Dance School teacher, winner of several domestic and foreign hip-hop competitions, Daniel Krihenbaum! University of Physical Education Practicing Primary School and Gymnasium Prom 2017 TFGY TF Practice.”

Just wait until you see this dance.

So I’m guessing the page is in Hungarian but these boys and girls are German.

Ladies in white, gentlemen in black.

It’s got that feeling of class and timelessness for sure.

Even the music is enchanting. But what’s even more amazing is how Daniel got these teens to behave and listen.

That in itself is a skill overlooked by many. Teenagers.

The girls take the stage in a squatting position, allowing their dresses to fan out before rising together as the music starts.

They do two spins with their arms waving out. Like flowers unfolding.

The men enter slowly, waltzing in before positioning themselves in front of their partners.

You know how when the boys arrive, they pose together for group photos, exchanging high fives and whispering to each other how this girl looks so hot and that girl is looking?

They did all of that for sure but when the time came for this dance, all that swag suddenly got flushed down the drain.

Not all of them are smiling.

Maybe some got stuck with a random girl they don’t know. Or like.

But those smiling are obviously pleased with their lady.

This is very much the idea of prom, isn’t it? Young boys and girls breaking free and slowly removing the folds of adolescence.

And to think this was just practice. Or so the description says.

It’s forward and back, step to the right, twirls and repeat all with their arms to the sides.

This dance does require a certain amount of grace and lightness.

Almost as if you’re bouncing on your toes.

Comments were full of praises and once translated from Hungarian, you see how much they love the dance!

Congratulations! You were very beautiful and skillful!!”

When you think of how awkward teenagers can be, the fact that they executed this dance to such perfection is a wonder all in itself.

It’s a lot of elegant spinning and swaying up until the partner dance.

There’s just something so special about seeing these kids dressed like characters from fairy tales while dancing as if from another era.

A dance like this transports men and women to another time.

When dancing the night away with a special someone was considered a “like” during social gatherings.
