The Boogeyman.
A mythical creature often mentioned by adults to scare erring children in to obedience, he does not have one defining look.
In more recent pop culture references, the term boogeyman is now associated with the very cool John Wick. As his first enemy in the first film, Viggo Tarasov, says,
“Well, John wasn’t exactly the boogeyman.”
He was sent to get rid of him.
Good thing then that there are those who take boogie to a different meaning. Like this man. Meet Tommy Johnson. And yes, you guessed it, he is the “Boogie Man”.
No, he’s not out to scare anyone.
On the contrary, he’s out to delight them. The man has insane piano skills on a piano.
How is he so good? Well he taught himself to play the piano at the age of four. You read that right. At the age of seven, he made his debut on The Horace Heidt Show. At nine, Tommy was featured in Life Magazine. Impressed yet?
Tommy has performed on many many cruise ships and has worked with many stars throughout his illustrious career. He’s been with the who’s who and played at the biggest of stages.
He says on his Facebook page,
“My intention is to take people of all ages on a magical musical tour where they can forget their everyday troubles and woes and find happiness for an hour or two either in concert or with my CD’s. I am eternally grateful for the gift given to me and I want to share it with you.“
He certainly does that. Mr. Johnson has the fingers that produce magic. Lightning fast yet buttery smooth, he plays with an almost reckless abandon but still maintaining his composure. The man is smooth.
Even the viewers can’t get enough,
“I wonder what musicians like Mozart and Chopin would think of piano playing like this. Absolutely amazing!”
How about over 6.3 million views?
Now of course no musician can please everyone especially when it comes to a disparity in generations and genres. Still though, watch Tommy play. Listen to his jam and tell me that he’s no one special.

Boogie woogie became popular in the 1920s, born in the 1870s from African-American communities and just spreading and gaining popularity everywhere as it is commonly associated with dancing.
If Tommy’s playing doesn’t make you smile and bop your head, please see a doctor. His playing is so uplifting and melodic.
The cool part is there are two individuals who keep telling him to go, “faster” to which the master obliges. It results in a pace unlike any other and Tommy even has a bit of fun pretending to pant and gasp for air as soon as he’s done. Awesome guy.
