At one point in history, it was common for a boy to learn the trade of his father. If a man were a blacksmith or a farmer, that is what his son would be. Times have changed as society has progressed; one thing, however, has remained the same. Children pick up on the hobbies of their parents. If a parent has a particular talent, the child is likely to appreciate that gift and enjoy practicing the same activity. This dad was overjoyed when he discovered that he had passed on his love for music to his son.
Luca is a curious young two-year-old who loves to spend time with his dad. Recently, his father has been playing songs in front of Luca. Since he is a musician, he likes to share his love of music with his son. He likes to play the guitar in front of Luca in the hopes that the young boy will pick up on this melodic art form.
One day, while dad was setting up his equipment, something amazing happened. He sat down and started playing his guitar – just like on any other day. Luca’s dad never could have guessed what would happen next.
As the man strummed a few slow notes, Luca stepped up to the mic and began to bust out a tune. The young toddler gave a performance of his own style of blues. His dad was immediately impressed. He rushed for his camera to capture the moment on film.
Luca’s dad positioned the camera and microphone so that the toddler could make his début without any technical difficulties. With an encouraging word, “Vamos,” Luca’s father ushered his son to begin.
Luca nodded to his dad before facing the microphone. As his father began plucking chords on the guitar, the young boy belted out his blues. The words may have been incomprehensible baby-speak, but it was clear that Luca’s music was coming from his heart. The young boy poured his soul into the music as he swayed his body back and forth.
After an initial verse, Luca held his harmonica up to his mouth. The toddler played a few notes between lines of loud vocals. Soon Luca was holding the mic with one hand and shrieking into it. It is clear that the young boy is already familiar with the genre of blues – his comfort in singing the musical style is clear.
As Luca neared the end of the song, his voice dropped in pitch. The toddler shook his head back and forth as he wailed into the microphone. He closed out the performance with a harmonica solo.
“Bravo!” Luca’s father exclaimed as he clapped for his young artist. He was overwhelmed with joy that his son had already started to explore his musical talents. It is obvious that this young boy has a bright future ahead of him.
