In a video uploaded by a netizen on YouTube, an adorable girl is seen singing her heart out.
She’s giving her own rendition of “Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye,” originally sung by Pakistani musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, one of the official soundtracks of the 2005 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film Kalyug.
Kalyug is translated as “the modern era.”
The film follows a young man named Kunal, played by Kunal Khemu, who sets out to exact revenge upon the porn industry.
Kunal had to fulfill his father’s promise to his relatives from Jammu by taking care of a young woman named Renuka.
After Renuka’s arrival in Bombay (now called Mumbai), she learned of the untimely death of Kunal’s father.
Thus she decided to return to Jammu. However, due to ticket reservations, she was forced to spend a week with Kunal, not knowing they will fall in love with each other and eventually marry.
They spent the first night in a hotel, where they encountered a mysterious guy named Johnny, who tells the manager to book them in the honeymoon suite.
It is where they consummated their marriage—but a few nights later, police stormed into their house and arrested the two for interrogation.
It was revealed that the intimate night they shared at the hotel was secretly recorded and uploaded online.
It’s a bit unusual that that’s what this little kid is singing, but the performance is hilarious!
As the kid impresses everyone with her singing prowess, she also exudes charm, earning her giggles and rounds of applause.
Aside from that, she also exhibited some moves that would put Queen Bey to shame! The way she performed reminded me of how Bollywood films are usually produced. Whether it’s a romantic comedy or an action film, expect it to have musical numbers!
I’ve personally watched several Bollywood films—3 Idiots, PK, and Ghajini to name a few—so I am quite familiar with their style.
Songs are a big part of their movie industry because stakeholders admire this practice as it is commercially profitable.
Music and songs are often released before the film hits the big screen, as opposed to the practice in Hollywood. The early release of music and songs helps filmmakers attract attention and hype towards their upcoming film and, in turn, earn a profit.
Will she be the newest internet sensation?
She belted the song as if she was channeling Celine Dion, adding cute gestures just like a professional singer would.
She occasionally closes her eyes like she understood the lyrics, savoring every word that she utters. It became a tad comical when she tried to reach the high notes, making her catch her breath after. On a side note, she maintained the curls of the song, leaving Ariana Grande shaking! She has a natural vibrato at such a young age.
The kid clearly has a knack for singing, and she is oozing with confidence.
If she can get proper training and musical education, she can hone up her skills.
For kids at this age are like sponges, and they absorb whatever is being taught to them. With her parents’ guidance and fueled by her passion, she can become a professional someday. Or better yet, surpass her idols!
Overall, her little show was impressive.
The video has amassed 17 million views as of writing. If she ever decides to join The Voice, she’ll be a three-chair turner for sure!
