What’s the most impressive acrobatic move you can pull off? Perhaps, once upon a time, you could attempt a handstand. But it’s unlikely that you ever could have called yourself a professional gymnast.
What’s certain is that it takes superior skill and dedication – and not forgetting flexibility – to be a part of an official acrobatic’s team, representing your country.
If, for some reason, you need proof of this, check out these representatives of Russian Womanâs Acrobatics team.
A popular video highlights one of the best performances by this team, at the 29th European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics for Seniors & Juniors.
The Russian team, which comprises of Anastasiia Parshina, Daria Chebulanka and Mariia Bakhtiarova, certainly gave their competitors a run for their money with their fantastic routine.
They competed to Geri Halliwellâs âItâs Raining Menâ – but really, it’s raining one specific acrobat; the smallest and youngest of the bunch, who spends more time spinning in the air than she does on the ground.
Talk about nausea-inducing – this isn’t something you could handle if you don’t like being dizzy!
There’s all sorts going on in this performance, and the girls flip and spin their way into our hearts.
Whether they’re making a three-person tower, hand-standing in the splits, or pulling off some death-defying balances, they know exactly what it takes to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
What’s obvious here is that this routine has taken hours of practice – but how boring walking must be when you know how fun it is to fly through the air!
That’s not to say we’d like to try this ourselves, thanks, though it’s certainly fun to watch.
Despite how many incredible gymnastic stunts they’re pulling off, the girls still manage to keep perfectly in time to the music, and really bring the song to life.
If you thought the first lift was impressive, the second one will have you hiding behind your fingers. This time, the bottom acrobat supports the second on her knees, which means she needs to focus much more on keeping balance herself.
While doing the splits is something that most of us wince at the thought of, you haven’t seen the best of it yet.
The youngest gymnasts starts off in splits position, but she’s here to prove she’s even more flexible than anyone could imagine.
She lifts her legs high over her head and somehow manages to bend them, as if she’s doing a forward fold, but, well… backward. Just watch the video if you’re confused about how she gets there.
Their dancing is somehow just as good as their stunts, and the girls have plenty of recovery time between moves.
By the time their routine comes to a close, the acrobats have successfully shown us all just how incredible the human body can be – if you ever want to put it through such stresses, that is.
But the performers don’t even look the slightest bit phased as they strike their finishing poses. They casually wave at the crowd and exit the stage, no blood (thankfully), sweat, or tears in sight.
It must be incredibly thrilling to possess such a remarkable gymnastic talent.
That said, the risk involved is enough to put most people off. Falling from standing position is scary enough. Falling from several feet off the ground is pretty terrifying. Doing the splits hurts even to consider.
If you much prefer to watch these performances than attempt them yourself, we’ve shared the video for you below.
