It’s always amazing to see talented dancers strutting their stuff on stage. They have incredible control over the muscles in their bodies, able to move with astonishing agility and grace, keeping each and every one of their movements in time with the beat. It’s even more impressive when we see a very young child pull off those some great moves.
Jodie Miller is a little dancer with a difference.
As well as being an accomplished mover and groover, little Josie is also a skilled gymnast.
At the age of just four years old, Josie was filmed performing in the Spotlight Dance Cup Hot Springs 2018 competition at the Rison Starz Dance Academy.
She entered in the Intermediate 8 and Under Open Solo category, competing against kids twice her age, but was still able to take home the top prize after this flawless routine!
While ‘I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)’ plays in the background, young Josie shows off the full extent of her talents, shaking her hips, gliding across the stage, and wowing the audience with her amazing, acrobatic moves.
She bends her legs over her head with ease, makes handstands and cartwheels look simple, and blows the judges away with her winning smile, all while wearing a flashy pink dress and feathery headdress.
Josie really seems to be enjoying herself throughout the performance, smiling out at the crowd from the first second to the last as she busts out one acrobatic move after another.
It’s simply inspiring to see such a young girl move with such elegance and agility. If Josie keeps up with her training, there’s no telling how far she could go! She’s the current 8 and Under National Grand Champion and we’re sure she’s destined for even more greatness in the future.
We’re so happy this little one has been rewarded for all her hard work and managed to win the big event after putting in such a fabulous performance! Some kids just have natural talent for all to see, and it’s clear that Josie was born with the passion and love of dance and gym that could someday make her a star.
Of course, as well as natural talent, routines like this also take a lot of practice and hard work. Josie must have had to spent so long preparing all those moves and practicing before the big day. It would have been so easy for a girl her age to forget something or make a little mistake, but she kept everything flowing so smoothly, hitting all her beats and landing all of her moves to perfection.
Josie is a little star, shining bright on the dance floor, and we can’t wait to see what she gets up to next!
She’s still attending events and shows as the defending champion, and has recently been spotted at events like the Talent On Parade St. Louis Nationals 2019. Check out her awesome performance down below.
