If there’s one thing we should remember about kids, it’s that they are more intelligent and more talented than we think even at a very young age.

We can already see toddlers engaging in different feats of physical prowess like sports, martial arts, and dancing.

One of the most intimidating, if not the most, is ballet.

Even so, many children take ballet as their summer elective and prove to be very capable and executing such graceful yet complicated moves.

While we can expect European countries like France and Russia to nurture ballet, the dance discipline also made its way to Southeast Asia.

In a video posted on YouTube, a young dancer showed the Philippine audience her graceful moves.

ABAP or the Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines just recently concluded its annual championships.

In one category, a little girl confidently took the stage even if it was a solo performance.

With her charm and skill, she showed that no one is too young to try on big things.

She tiptoed into the stage with one of Disney’s Classics.

Her dainty and light steps matched the song Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo perfectly.

The song was used in the 1950 version of Cinderella.

The song is all about magic and how Cinderella’s fairy godmother transformed a pumpkin into a carriage, mice into horses, and a horse and a dog into a coachman and footman respectively.

The song was performed by Verna Felton in the original version while Helena Bonham-Carter, best known for her role as Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter series, performed the song in Cinderella’s 2015 remake.

The little girl captured the magic of the song with her bright smile and sprightly movements.

Even when she was performing, you can see that she knows exactly what she was doing.

With some arm salutations, she started her routine with plies.

Then, with some raised-arm sautes, she showed her agility and gentleness.

Ballet is an intricate dance to learn as it banks so much on control.

This little girl, however, seemed like she was doing this for a long time.

All throughout the performance, the little girl carried out her routine with a smile.

She did her moves, no matter how complicated, in perfect time and sequence.

It was clear that the hard work she did during rehearsals was paying off in significant ways!

She even did impressive leg raises and hopped around the stage like a little fairy herself.

We wouldn’t be surprised if she managed to get some “oh’s” and “aww’s” from the audience.

And with adorable twirls and spins, she managed to get an amazing average score!

The ABAP International Dance Competition is an annual event.

The competition gathers performers of different ages and schools into a dance fest where they can show off and share their talents.

Meanwhile, the ABAP has been around for almost three decades. The organization started in 1993 with the vision of promoting and spreading classical ballet in the Philippines.

Watch how this little girl performs a ballet routine for one of Disney’s most popular songs.
