It is believed that things might slow down a bit after you hit a certain age.
That’s natural, but having a sense of humor should be a lifelong habit for all of us. Life would be pretty grim if we weren’t able to laugh at ourselves!
That’s exactly what these senior citizens did after kids came to the retirement home all dressed up and ready to dance.
Without a doubt, all generations recognize and love Michael Jackson’s music.
First things first, we must say that the song choice is really good.
You can combine different routines with it and you can plan some pretty simple choreography. As this video begins, the clip is in a retirement home where we see some older people celebrating. As the party host announces, the real dance group had to cancel their show and there would be a last-minute replacement. Then we see some more senior citizens enter the room.
They all walk slowly, and they use canes—but their young faces give them away.
Those are kids, dressed as grandparents! It’s funny how they overdo every move to emphasize that they are old. It was all done on purpose to make the performance funnier, and they definitely achieved their goal! Their senior audience is laughing a lot, and they should.
When the song begins, they throw away their walking sticks to the side and they bow a bit as if their back hurts.
It’s hysterical how believable their movements are. The dance is over the top, well-choreographed, simple, and easy to follow through.
The only thing that could have made the video better is if the seniors in the audience stood up and joined in for a group dance!
Anyway, “Thriller” had never had funnier dancers, and Michael Jackson would be proud. In all, the video is a great inspiration for anyone who loves to dance (and is looking for an idea to surprise someone). Staying in a retirement home must get a little boring after a while, so this must’ve been a pleasant surprise!
If there is a grandma or grandpa whose birthday is coming up soon, this is a great way to surprise them!
The video was uploaded in 2011, and we hope that at least one retirement center has since used the idea to put on a similar show. Even if you don’t have a retirement home to go to, you can always do some “Thriller” choreography at your house to surprise your family. Who wouldn’t appreciate a show like this? After all, a good laugh has never hurt anyone.
The entire performance was in good fun, and the results definitely entertained the crowd.

Although there was probably a chance that the audience could’ve been slightly offended, everyone there seemed to take it in stride and had a great time with it. Because there’s enough bad news all around us, everyone is probably craving a little fun right now! As this video shows, you’re never too old to have a little bit of fun—and you’re never too old to poke fun at yourself in the process.
