Evdokia “Eva” Rubanovich, Pavlinka Stankova and Yordan Mihaylov might all be small but they are fierce.
They competed at the National Competition in Bulgaria in the Young Acrobat division. Their performance will blow you away. As they walk onto the floor they look small and young, but do not let that fool you. They are stronger than they look, talented beyond their years, and ready to win.
“Acrobatic Gymnastics is equal parts performance and partnership, as groups of gymnasts work together to complete spectacular and extraordinary feats. Acrobatic gymnasts perform in pairs, trios or groups, in which each of the individual gymnast’s size and skill are used to complement each other. Set to music and interspersed with choreography, the routines combine art and skill as the gymnasts perform static elements such balances and holds; and dynamic elements such as lifts, throws with complex somersaults and twists; and tumbling skills,” Gymnastic Sport explains.
The three girls are decked out in sparkly pink and black leotards with sparkles in their hair. They have dressed to stand out.
The trio walk onto the floor in perfect unison. They are already in sync with each other and never lose their uniformity throughout their performance. It only takes about ten seconds into their performance to realize they are serious competitors. If you thought the acrobatic part of their routine would not be as impressive because of their age, they will quickly prove you wrong.
These three girls perform acrobatic lifts and holds that seem way beyond their age.
The strength to perform these acrobatic lifts and holds is super impressive. These girls are strong and they are not only strong but they are flexible. They are performing splits, back bends and front handsprings with ease. Practice has made perfect for the trio as they complete these flexible and impressive tricks in unison too.
They uniformly move with grace between their acrobatic holds and lifts.
Acrobatic gymnastics includes lifts and throws and this trio makes sure to include both.
They throw their smallest girl into the air and she spins in the air on her way up and down. They toss her in the air multiple times as if she weighs nothing. She is smaller but the strength from the two taller girls is what stands out during the throws and lifts.
The girls end their performance to rousing applause from the audience. The smiles on their faces, as they walk off the floor, show the girls had fun and knew they did well. They go to greet their coaches with their happiness being contagious. The video includes the girls finding out their scores and place.
