Ice dancing is one of those sports that doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. Sure, during the winter Olympics it all of a sudden becomes very important to lots of people. However, these athletes are training so hard year-round to put on a perfect show and bring home the gold.
One duo has captured the hearts of some very loyal fans through their captivating performances. Hailing from Canada, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are the best of the best.
This performance from the 2016 Grand Prix Final is darn near flawless.
The two of them have so much chemistry, it’s hard to believe that they aren’t a couple in their everyday lives, to the dismay of many fans. They just really know how to sell the connection in their routines and in the way they handle each other on the ice. They get into character so well, and that’s just one of the reasons that folks love them oh so much.
Everything from their facial expressions to their fingertips, to the delicate way Scott places his hands on Tessa’s hips while they speed across the ice, are so above and beyond.
This routine set to Prince songs is so fun to watch. Lots of figure skating duos take these routines so seriously. These two, though, know how to add just the right amount of sass and fun to the steps. Just watching them dance together brings such incredible joy!
These two have been dancing together for two decades, and it certainly shows. It’s like they share a brain, or like they are two halves of the same person.

It’s true! I simply couldn’t take my eyes off of them as they glide across the rink. I think my favorite part is when Tessa gives a very cheeky wink to the judges in the middle of the routine. You can tell that these two know how important it is to have fun while they’re out there, and it makes their routines all that much better.
