I can't decide who I think sang it better!

Things are heating up on The Voice!

If you’re unfamiliar with how The Voice works, just know it operates pretty different from other reality singing shows.

While the contestants are all trying to make it big, the first difference that makes The Voice standout is that it is a competition between the contestants, but also the coaches.

On top of that, each contestant goes into the competition flying blind. The big focal point of the show is that the judges are not facing the singers.

Whereas on The X Factor and American Idol the judges tend to interact with the singers before their audition. On The Voice, they are coaches, not judges, and they only hit their button and turn around to see the singer if they think they’re good.

Each coach has 16 spots on their team to fill and that is why they turn around during the “Blind Auditions.”

If every coach turns around, they will then fight each other to get that person on their team. While the coaches can state why their team is the best, it is up to the singer to decide who they want to work with.

After the “Blind Auditions” comes the “Battle Round.” This is one of the most interesting rounds because teammates are put against each other, as this a competition to find one winner.

A new addition to this season of the voice is that the coaches can steal the loser of a Battle Round to add to their team.

The most interesting part of the “Battle Round” came down to two members of Alicia Keys team: 18-year-old Britton Buchanan and 16-year-old Jaclyn Lovey.

These two were easily the most interesting battle of the night. Both Britton and Jaclyn have powerhouse voices that impressed the coaches and audience.

The two singers had to both sing Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud” and their end goal was to impress their coach, Alicia.

While they were battling during this song, the way that Britton and Jaclyn sang it made it sound like the perfect duet.

Seriously, Ed Sheeran should look into working on a remix of this song with these two contestants from The Voice!

During their separate rounds in the “Blind Audition” phase, they impressed the judges quite a bit. Jaclyn sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, while Britton sang “Trouble” by Ray LaMontagne.

During their “Battle Round,” these two brought their A game and the coaches and audience could not stop cheering while the sang.

But at the end, only one singer was going to be chosen. It was a tough choice for Alicia, but she ultimately chose Britton Buchanan.

After she made her decision, Alicia defended the choice by saying:

“I had to go with Britton because he has the special thing. He’s only 18 and he has all of that in him! Can you imagine two years from now? It’s ridiculous! He is a force to be reckoned with, don’t forget Britton.”

Normally, Jaclyn would have been out, but if you watch the video, you’ll see that Blake Shelton slammed his red button at the last possible second to steal her for his team!

Next up on this season of The Voice is the “Knockout Round” – hopefully, we’ll see more interesting moments from the other coaches, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson.
