At just 13-years-old Mariandrea Villegas is powerful. And that power comes from her love of dance.
She throws everything she has into her dance routines and has the talent and skill of someone twice her age.
That’s why professional choreographer Phil Wright was so blown away when he danced alongside her at The Dance Awards.

Despite being her senior, she pretty much left him in the dust. And Wright wasn’t afraid to admit it.
“I think I got smoked. I need to stop dancing with these kids. They’re low-key superheroes,” he wrote on Instagram.

Wright is the executive producer and choreographer of “Disney Fam Jam,” The Disney Channel’s family dance competition show.
The show is based on Wright’s viral online streaming show “The Parent Jam.”
Wright has also worked with massive acts like Lil Nas X, MC Hammer, TLC, Will Smith, and Cardi B. Wright is an international dance teacher and starred as Harold in Disney’s “Under Wraps.”

Despite Wright’s extensive talent and experience, it’s clear from watching the video from The Dance Awards that he did indeed get smoked by Villegas.
“She nailed it,” Wright said.
To be fair, Villegas trains like a pro. She’s a part of EPIC MOTION Dance School and they go hard.
Villegas was a second runner-up at the 2021 The Dance Awards and was a Top 10 teen in the 2022 competition.
She was also a BTF live audition winner. The video of her dancing alongside Wright ended up going viral and was viewed more than 1.1 million times.
It was really her passion, attitude, and style that stole the show.
“I’ve watched this a thousand times also, I can see her hunger along with soo many other kids who eat, sleep, and drink dancing. It’s in their DNA,” wrote one commenter.
“That’s youth honey! She was almost a half-beat ahead of him,” another said.
“Omg yes, I loved it.@mariandreavc and you are so courageous. You looked so beautiful. Keep going baby. You done more than great but magnificent and never forget to the thank the Lord for your talents. You are going to go so far in life and your choreographer is the bomb and really supports you,” and another.
As great as Villegas was in the routine, it was truly an amazing spectacle to see them grooving side-by-side.
It’s almost mind-blowing how fast these two were able to move in-sync.
And the fierceness and conviction in their moves is truly inspiring. Those windmill arms were just crazy. They were practically mesmerizing!

“You sure she’s not the teacher,” asked another?
