Maesi is one of such people. Only 14 years old, she won the ISDTA State Solo Competition 2019 with her amazing moves. Maesi’s superior dancing skills, combined with an impeccable technique won the day and left everyone captivated!

The Iowa State Dance solo competition is held annually and has a long tradition dating back to 1985 when the first competition was held. Winning the prestigious ISDTA competition is no small feat. Maesi joined an exclusive club of champions and set a high bar for future competitors!

Dance is all about passion

Contrary to some may think, dance is not about competition and winning, even though everyone likes to see their hard work rewarded; it’s about passion. If you’re passionate about dance everything becomes much easier, as there’s no better feeling than doing what you really love!

Whether you want to dance just as a hobby or if you want to become a professional, it takes a lot of passion and practice to dance! That shouldn’t discourage you, because if you really want to dance, you’ll be extra motivated to improve!

Dance Moms young star steals the spotlight

Maesi is by no means new to the world of dance. Even before she turned 14, she had a formidable resume. Having won two Grand National Championships, Maesi made her debut in the fifth episode of the seventh season of ‘Dance Moms’ back in 2016.

She came to the spotlight in 2018 after her ‘Whack Back’ performance in Las Vegas that won her the attention of the producers of NBC’s children’s talent and reality TV show “Little Big Shots”.

“When I got the news, I was super star struck and I told someone to pinch me because I was super excited,” Maesi said. “It was on the top of my bucket list of to do.”

Her favorite dance style is hip hop.

“I’m so proud of her because she stayed true to who she is,” Maesi’s mom Jaime said. “She’s a sweet, humble girl and she’s kept her Iowa roots.”

Maesi’s is a true example to young dancers worldwide and a future dance superstar!
