Teen girl sings Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” on The Voice and gets four chair turns
Over 21 million people have watched this teenage girl give her unique take on “Bohemian Rhapsody!”

“The Voice” is a popular singing competition where singers participate in blind auditions. If a judge likes a singer, they turn their chair around to see what they look like. The singer then gets to choose which judge’s team they want to be on.

This TV series began in Holland, but there are now spin-off series all over the world, including in the United States, Spain, China, Brazil, and France.

In 2017, an audition from “The Voice France” went viral. This audition featured a teenage girl named Lou Mai singing an incredible rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Lou Mai is a singer and design student from Paris. She loves singing more than anything, and she often posts videos of her covers on her YouTube page.

When she was 18, Lou decided to try her luck auditioning for “The Voice France.” She chose to sing the notoriously hard “Bohemian Rhapsody.” With her family watching in the wings of the stage, Lou began her audition.

The judges were immediately intrigued by Lou’s voice. All of the judges smiled as they listened to her sing the opening lyrics to the song.

All four judges ended up turning their chairs around at the exact same time! The judges all laughed when they realized they had turned around together.

Lou smiled when she realized she had gotten four chair turns, and she kept going with her audition. She sang through the first few verses of the song, and when she finished, the audience and judges gave her a standing ovation.

After Lou finished singing, the judges made their cases for why she should join their team. In the end, Lou chose to go with the singer Mika.

The video of Lou singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” went viral on YouTube, receiving over 21 million views. Everyone loved her unique rendition of the song!

Lou didn’t end up winning “The Voice France,” but in the two years since she was on the show, she has continued performing throughout Paris. She often shares videos of her performances on her Twitter and her YouTube page.

Lou isn’t the only “The Voice France” contestant who has gone viral.

In 2017, a singer named Will Barber’s performance of “Another Brick In The Wall” went viral, receiving over 74 million views. He ended up getting four chair turns, including a very enthusiastic turn from judge Mika!




A video of contestant Lisandro Cuxi singing Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” also went viral, receiving more than 10 million views. Lisandro got four chair turns, and he ended up winning his season of “The Voice!”
