Students Perform Silly Sack Dance At Talent Show

March 23rd, 2020

Part of the fun of a talent show is you never know what kind of acts you’re going to witness.

Some dance, some sing, some focus on comedy – and then there are those who combine them all into a single act!

One audience was treated to a performance with this type of variety, but it also had a unique twist too. It all started when five people took the stage wearing colorful sacks that looked quite “silly.”

The Silly Sacks jump into their performance with the 90s favorite, “Macarena.”

If you haven’t heard of a Silly Sack or Dance Blob, they’re costumes that are in the shape of a bag, yet, they can hilariously form to the participant’s body as well. They can be used in variety shows, dances, flash mobs – and in other creative performances that are looking for some pizazz.

Most adults know the “Macarena” dance (whether you want to admit it or not). However, it’s not every day you see a stage of Blobs busting out the moves!

But this isn’t just a single song kind of performance. These Silly Sacks have a fun playlist up their sleeves.

Suddenly, the “Macarena” morphs into Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” The yellow sack is the main singer, while the others bang their fists on the ground and wave their arms to the tune. Although you can’t see any faces, it’s still as if they’re “lip-syncing” the words. The YouTube video is actually titled, “lip sync silly sacks!”

In this comical performance, there’s a song for everyone.

As a group, the Silly Sacks dance with energy to the viral Norweigen hit “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)” and then slow things down when a classical song emerges. It’s hard to keep a straight face watching a bunch of colorful bags dance ballet.

One viewer commented:

“That was really cute! Loved it! ♥”

What variety show would be complete without a Queen song?

Laughs can be heard from the crowd as the performers take on the mega-hit, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Only it’s the Glee version. This time, it’s turquoise that gets to be the star of the show, while the others are the backup performers. You can really feel the sack’s angst as he “yells” the epic lyric, “Mama!”

Silly Sacks are a great way to spice up a typical dance performance, as they’re a lot of fun to watch.

According to the Sensory Therapy Shop website, the sack’s opening is at the bottom and the person can pull it over their head to their feet. The feet then go in either corner of it. While the wearer can see out of the sack – nobody can see inside!

These bags go out with a bang.

After covering the ballad section of “Bohemian Rhapsody” they lighten the mood with another huge hit, Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies!” They wave their hands in the air and try and do Queen Bey’s iconic moves. With how the bags form you can make them out just perfectly.

Another viewer commented:

“ok I’m wearing that costume to a party one day”
