Have you ever passed a street musician whose talent blew you away? It’s a magical experience. There are some places in the world where you can see a lot of street artists on just about every corner. One of these is New York City.

You might find people singing or perhaps playing the guitar on the street in the Big Apple. Do you know what you usually don’t see? Someone playing an upright piano. But one man travels to cities all over the world, bringing his upright piano with him. That way, he can spread his love of music.

His name is Dotan Negrin

This man loves both music and traveling. So, he decided to quit his normal 9-to-5 job to do something many people wish they could do: He’s traveling the world and playing music wherever he goes.

Globetrotting

Dotan has already been to multiple places on the globe. So far, he’s been to 20 countries. Even more impressive than that, he’s visited more than 300 cities. After traveling 50,000 miles, he’s seen a lot.

Recording the performances

Not only does Dotan play for people on the street but he also shares his skills with a much broader audience. He accomplishes that by recording all of his performances. Then, he posts them on YouTube so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy them.

A spontaneous performance

Back in 2016, Dotan was playing in New York City. While sitting at the piano, he noticed a girl off to the side with a violin. So, he asked if she wanted to join him. She agreed right away and got up from where she was sitting.

A beautiful start

They decided to play “Just the Two of Us” by Bill Withers. Initially, the girl, named Ada Pasternak, started to play the violin while Dotan tickled the ivories on the piano. It was a beautiful duet.

A surprise

Since the two of them sounded great together, onlookers were expecting more of the same. But then, something happened that changed the whole dynamic of the song. Ada burst out singing.

An amazing voice

As soon as she began to sing, people on the sidelines can’t believe what they’re witnessing. That includes Dotan. As he looks up at her, you can tell he’s beyond impressed.

The audience loved it

When Dotan and Ada were playing instruments, the audience ate it up. They were so good that people were taking videos to share with others. Considering their performance was on a sidewalk, they drew a pretty big crowd.

A cute message

If you pay close attention to the video, you might see something that makes this video even better. There’s a little message at the top that says Ada gave Dotan her number. While we’ll probably never know what happened, it’s a cute story nonetheless.
