“Still Got the Blues” is probably one of the most recognizable of Gary Moore’s songs.

The song itself is timeless and plenty of musicians are still inspired by it—and that’s why there are so many covers of this song all over the Internet. And that includes Naudo Rodrigues, an amazing and talented guitarist. In this video, Rodrigues takes on the song in his own way and has a great time doing it.

The best part of the performance is that nobody really knew it was coming.

This video begins with a close-up of Rodrigues sitting outside of some cafe. He poses for the camera, fixing his hat and joking about something. He and the person filming are having a great laugh—and then he starts playing.

His sound has a lot of originality and it immediately captivates people’s attention. It is obvious that Rodrigues is a well-known artist in that neighborhood.

Every now and then, someone who knows him passes by and he spares a second to wave and greet his acquaintance.

Rodrigues is relaxed, and he improvises while playing. His guitar seems free and full of life in his talented hands! His technique is effortless, he enjoys playing and he isn’t bothered to play by the rules. The song he’s playing is easily recognizable, and yet he makes it original and somehow different. There is some special note of blues in his playing.

Every time a talented musician does a cover like this one, it becomes a small masterpiece.

The guitar can stand out from all the other instruments because it reinvents itself.

Every time a talented musician takes a well-liked song and does a cover, that becomes a work of art in its own right. That is exactly what Rodrigues did and his talent is obvious. The way he improvises with his guitar makes it seem easy to play any song. That is the true beauty of music and the true skill of people who make good music.

As it turns out, Rodrigues began playing guitar when he was five years old.

He comes from a family of musicians but never went to any school or music conservatory. He is an autodidact, which explains his original interpretation technique. He learned to play guitar by jamming with other musicians and he played all musical styles.

Rodrigues recorded his first album “Vento Norte” with the group Karetas and it was the best-selling album in Brazil in 1982.

In 2002, he recorded an album titled “Alone With My Guitar.”

Although musical success is not strange to him, he has remained very humble throughout his entire career. Rodrigues is also a member of the Madeira Choro band, and their acts are dedicated to Brazilian music.

Since this performance was posted, it has been viewed almost four million times.

Rodrigues’s fellow musician Juan Ignacio Moreno uploaded this video on his YouTube channel in 2017. Since then, all the comments have kept rolling in—and what’s particularly interesting is they are all in different languages! Most people agree that Rodrigues has a special gift and talent.

And his guitar playing is remarkable.

Fortunately, Rodrigues’ channel has many other videos that have plenty of equally impressive performances.

Whether he’s playing “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton to “Wind of Change” by Scorpions, Rodrigues is a special kind of music star. He has charisma and enjoys his guitar very much. We can only wish for his more live performances.
