Some days, we find ourselves humming a tune that got stuck in our head—and we can barely even remember where it came from.
The tune could be anything from all-time classic songs you might hear on the radio, a TV commercial theme, or even a game’s original soundtrack. Sometimes, the nostalgia is enough to try to look up the song’s title and origin to know where it came from. Once you hear the song we’re talking about today, you’ll know what we’re talking about.
In this clip, the Stellenbosch University choir takes on a Swahili song prayer.

The Stellenbosch University Choir, the oldest choir group founded in South Africa, performed “Baba Yetu” at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales in 2018.
The choir group kicked things off with a slow start by simply humming the tune. A few seconds after, you could hear the modulated voices of the men as they sang the verses of the song in Swahili.

Soon after, the females mixed in their high-pitched vocals to blend with the others.
As they were already singing altogether, their blended voices resonated all over the arena. Their sweet-sounding melody took people on a trip to the clouds—everything the audience was hearing was just heavenly.
In the middle of the performance, two men made an appearance on stage to share their passionate prayers.

Just as the choir lowered their volume, two men came out from behind them wearing traditional South African clothing.
When they finally positioned themselves near the microphone, the choir restarted the verses in a beautiful entrance.

The men then passionately shared their prayers in Swahili all while the choir was singing.
As “Baba Yetu” was a Swahili version of the Lord’s prayer, it makes sense that they did just that.

Stellenbosch Choir uploaded the video clip of their performance on their YouTube channel and fished 3.5 million views.
Everyone loved the choir’s angelic voices as well as the diversity and unity of the choir, and especially in times like these, it is probably what everyone needs to see.

Though you may not have heard this song before, we definitely recommend it to anyone!

In all, the song is a masterpiece that is full of harmonies that will give you goosebumps.
