Wuauquikuna is a musical group made up of Luis and Fabian Salazar, two Ecuadorian brothers who love to travel and perform all over Europe sharing their love of folklore music.
They have covered and performed many songs but this take on Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” may be the brothers’ best one yet.

Using instruments mainly from South and North America and sometimes from other parts of the world, Luis and Fabian delight listeners with the quena, quenacho, chinese flute, zampoñas, rondador, panflute, toyos.
“The Sound of Silence” is one of those songs that has endured the test of time, going on to become a classic many artists love to cover and perform.
Bet you’ve never heard it performed this way though!
It was recorded in 1964 but it flopped, and it was only in 1965 when the song began to make an impact after being remixed and recorded.
And from then on, the song cemented itself as perhaps one of the greatest hits of all time.
