The best thing about reality talent shows is that they help undiscovered talents find a wider platform.

Although we’re all used to seeing shows that help new potential pop stars find an audience (and a record label, in some cases), there are also all kinds of unconventional talents that go on these shows as well.

On the Got Talent franchise, for example, plenty of Americans have probably watched singers, dancers, acrobats, and even mimes do memorable performances the likes of which they’ve never seen.

As it turns out, though, the Got Talent franchise is worldwide—and some of the other versions have even more interesting acts.

The performance we’re talking about today comes from Ukraine’s Got Talent, a show that most people reading this have probably never seen.

Still, the show works basically the same way as America’s Got Talent does. Contestants come out before a panel of judges who can hit their buzzer to dismiss them, or allow them to continue to further rounds.

As the show goes on, the contestants gradually get eliminated until there’s only one left standing. In this particular audition, an 11-year-old girl named Sophia came out on stage dressed in a traditional European outfit.

After speaking with the judges and introducing herself, it was time for her to perform.

Although she would be singing as her talent, this was no ordinary kind of singing.

Rather than pick a conventional pop song to cover, Sophia decided to show off some traditional yodeling skills—much to the surprise of the judges and the entire audience.

As the music starts playing, Sophia starts dancing around the stage in her traditional clogging shoes. Before long, she opens her mouth to start singing a song about all the women who yodel in Switzerland.

Still, things escalate pretty quickly after that.

As soon as she’s set the scene, Sophia immediately starts yodeling with incredible precision!

Although the first round of is impressive and perfectly on-pitch, the yodeling only gets faster and more complicated as the performance goes on!

Right from the very beginning, the entire crowd is charmed by Sophia, and they get on their feet halfway through the performance to give her a big round of applause! After she’s proven her talent, the whole audience is clapping along with the song.

Still, Sophia isn’t quite done yet.

For the finale, she does a few more complicated yodeling scales that charm the audience.

Still, nobody seems to be more into it than the judges are—all of them are dancing in their chairs! Just when everyone thinks it can’t get any faster, it speeds up even more at the end.

Finally, Sophia ends on the highest note yet and strikes a pose. When it’s all over, the crowd gives her a huge standing ovation.

Even though nobody was expecting to see such a strange performance, it was a huge hit with the crowd!

Needless to say, Sophia’s performance encapsulates just what the whole Got Talent franchise is about.

Although there are plenty of great singers and dancers in the world, it sometimes pays to have a talent that’s a little more off the beaten path.

Even though Sophia was so young, it’s clear that she’s mastered the art of yodeling and was unafraid to share that talent with the world. And it seems like it paid off—after all, the video has nearly seven million views on YouTube!
