Iconic blues musician Sonny Boy Williamson II lights the stage on fire with his brilliant performance of “Keep It To Yourself.”
Alex Miller was known as Rice Miller and Little Boy Blue before he finally settled on the name Sonny Boy Williamson, which was actually already the name of a popular blues artist. Because of this, he was referred to as Sonny Boy Williamson II in order to erase any confusion.


His skills on the harmonic are what really set him apart from many other artists, and this video is the perfect example of just that.
In this performance of “Keep It To Yourself,” Sonny Boy Williamson II uses his harmonic and voice to bring down the house and mesmerize people from all over the globe.


After settling in on stage, Williamson II gets right to it using his harmonica to put the crowd into a trance.
He manipulates the little metal instrument to make sounds that you wouldn’t believe, rolling up and down while using his hands to create different tones.


That’s when Williamson takes a break from the harmonica to showcase his powerful voice, singing the opening words to his song “Keep It To Yourself.”


The outstanding musician goes back and forth from singing to tearing it up on his harmonica in an extraordinary fashion.

Sonny Boy Williamson II didn’t have his first recording session until he was over 50 years old, in 1951 he recorded with Lillian McMurry from Trumpet Records and his career began taking off. From there, Williamson II recorded successfully during the ’50s and ’60s.


Toward the end of this performance of “Keep It To Yourself,” Willamson II lets loose on his harmonic, at one point putting it into his mouth and playing with no hands.
This phenomenal live-show happened long before YouTube was even created, but even all these years later people couldn’t get enough of it and it went massively viral.


His performance of “Keep It To Yourself” has been viewed over 11.2 million times, with 129,000 people liking it.


Thousands of blues lovers also left comments for the insanely talented blues legend, many completely entranced by his harmonica abilities.
