Musical performances and the Christmas holiday go hand in hand, but only some leave audiences mesmerized. One such incredible performance that’s circulating the internet focuses on a snare drumline, and it takes place at the Church of Southland in Anaheim, California.

The drumming group is on stage in front of the parishioners with their show coming to an end. However, before they complete it, they decide to give everyone an encore using the most perfect song choice – “Little Drummer Boy.”

It’s a rendition of Josh Groban’s “Little Drummer Boy” that has the carol coming to life in an extraordinary way. In fact, it’s been captivating viewers each holiday season for the last decade.

Ten snare drummers from the Kingsmen Alumni Corps are standing in a line dressed in blue uniforms adorned with gold. One of the men in the middle starts the performance by rhythmically beating on his instrument.

As it turns out though, they’re not the only musicians in the church. Vocalists are there to sing the classic lyrics, which tell a story relating to the day Jesus Christ was born.

All of the men eventually pick up their drumsticks and tap their instruments in unison. The sound is inviting to the ears, and it’s entertaining to watch – but soon their speed picks up sending it to a whole other level of amazing…

According to the video description, the snare drummers involved in the act were: “Armando Ayala, Scott Moreno, Fabian Hurtado, Greg Meader, Dale Lofgren, Peter Yi, Dave Adkins, Edgar Aliviado, Chico Eiffert & Steve Munsey.” The person who directed it was Mike Makata – and there were several extra KAC and church performers as well.

Get ready to be hypnotized as the drummers practice magnificent coordination playing “Little Drummer Boy.” At lightning speed, they beat on their instruments and demonstrate they have skills with the drumsticks themselves.

The crowd was likely glued as the line of men began flipping their sticks creating the appearance of a long wave.

More than just a listening experience, it’s equally a visual show too. With each movement, you can envision how much time, hard work, and dedication it must have taken to reach their skill level.

It’s not as common to see a drumline in a Christmas performance, yet, it’s really a magical addition.

Mixed with the vocalists and additional instruments, it all comes together beautifully. On top of that, there isn’t a more fitting tune than “Little Drummer Boy,” don’t you think? Upfront there’s even a six-year-old boy playing the song’s main character.
